It is impressive to remember that, at the times of Bach service as Kantor in Leipzig, he composed one cantata each week (and even more at Christmas and Easter), and both singers and musicians had only a few days for rehearsal. Glory to Bach (and bravo to Backstiftung)!

Brilliant cantatarecording! 200 of the sacred cantatas remain, a gold mine, but 100 are lost. Considering the quality of the remaining ones, imagine what we have lost!

Cette aria pour ténor est certainement l'un des morceaux les plus virtuoses de Bach. La nécessité technique requise pour le ténor qui la chante est incroyable.

In alcuni episodi, sembra quasi una composizione moderna. La tempesta, venne descritta meravigliosamente con audaci giocchi contrapuntistici. La lungimiranza compositiva del maestro cantore!

An den Arien für Tenor und Bass kann man gut hören, welch großartiger Opernkomponist Bach geworden wäre, wenn man ihn in Dresden nur gelassen hätte. Und wie kaltschnäuzig haben die Leipziger dieses epochale Genie behandelt. Bach jedenfalls hätte an dieser wahrhaft vollendeten Interpretation sicherlich seine Freude gehabt!

Ich bin zwar kein Musikexperte, aber ich glaube, dass es keine bessere Interprätation gibt, als diese! Insbesondere die der vom Bass gesungen Aria "Schweig, aufgetürmtes Meer!".
