what a masterpiece played on the violin! it sounds like it's the secret 7th sonata/partita, like the fugue is like the A minor and C major sonatas put in one. fantastic work!
I truly enjoyed this performance of the string version of the piece. And, it does sound as it was transcribed for clavier from the initial string concept, especially fantasia part. While this may be a guess at this point, it is very educational for keyboard players to listen to this version for the sake of articulation, micro phrasing and the intensity of playing chords, and its relationship to climatic logic. The intensity of sound production on violin inform the intentions of the piano where sound production is easier to execute, and the meaning is easily lost for this reason. And playing of the fugue on the violin is most incredible. Bravo! 🎉
Thank you so much for your words... yes, after playing of course all the solo violin sonatas and partitas, I had to try to transcribe his keyboard works for solo violin! Listening to Bach interpretations of such old colleagues/friends like Andris Schiff (who starts every day with Bach) made me convinced that it is possible. I play all these transcriptions like they would be original for violin, I feel like they are, because I am allowed to play the smallest details with great enjoyment. It is always a bit difficult to "practice" them because I just cannot stop playing...😉

Brilliant playing and transcription! Everyone knows the piece from keyboard performances and the brain fills in the polyphony that the violin cannot perform. :)
