27. Budapesti Bach-hét (Deák téri evangélikus templom) Rohmann Ditta (violoncello piccolo) J. S. Bach műveiből játszott. Budapest, 2016. július 11. Videó és hang: Remete P.
Boccherini owned "a small cello", many of his sonatas, quintets first cello parts, and concertos don't use the C string at all. He possibly composed and played many of those on a 4 string piccolo tuned to G!
This is some of the most beautiful playing I've ever heard. It is a crime you are not known the world over. I've no problem saying your name and the word 'genius' in the same breath.
We admire it a lot. It's a beautiful virtuoso performance that properly accounts for the nature of the instrument. But we have our own tenor voice, the violoncello da spalla. I dare say that it's easier for us to play Bach Suites daspalla than it is for cellists to play the violin sonatas and partitas on violoncello piccolo. i.e. I find this performance a more significant accomplishment than a spallist playing a Bach Suite.
Im so happy i was looking for on internet the partitas played by cello but in live ... and today surprise wonderfull sound technique and pleasure to play ... bravo for this nice soul.
Wow, I absolutely second what Lory Pollina says, couldn't have said it better myself; mosaics on the floor of heaven.. and on an earth we may be about to lose..
Wow, Absolut worldclass! I think we must think about our system of music stars. If this was yo-yo ma , the world would give a stunning applause. This woman plays Bach as well, if think even more subtile. My Gratulation! Olymp of playing Bach. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 (And yes: she has a 5.th string, the 6. cello suite is therefore more difficult )
This is the second time I hear this piece played on a violoncello piccolo. The first occasion was the performance of Anner Bylsma. I am really glad he has this follower in the attempt of playing JSB's violin pieces on other instruments.
What a completely stunning and wonderful lady and performer !!!! Her agility, precision and focused-but-unflappable poise are to perfection; she enriches that which we already had from JS Bach. My warm and humble thanks for this GLORIOUS recital :-)))
Sorry to speak in portuguese...Estou simplesmente assombrado com o seu talento..! Se Bach estivesse na platéia, ele estaria aplaudindo de pé por uma hora sem parar..! Best wishes from Mairiporã, in Brazil..!.
This work is one of the hardest pieces to play on the guitar. 30 years ago it was thought it is impossible the play guitar. Howevever, the guitar has 6 strings the player can use 4 fingers and the neck of the guitar is shorter. This piece is the door to the hall of the best guitarist (if you are good enough to let you inside). Thanks for this musician to performance this which can be much harder than playing on it on guitar.
This is absolutely incredible - I can‘t believe I haven‘t heard of this master cellist before! She has got everything one can only wish: impeccable technique, intelligence, musical sensitiveness, beautiful phrasing, absolute souverenity in her concentration and anticipation. Wow! A huge Bravo!!!👏💛
I stumbled on to this today and within a few minutes I realized I was watching something quite extraordinary. You spoke the language of the infinite. You're performance is exciting, exact, and mysterious all at the same time. God bless you - you have not lived in vain!!
@@dittacello Thank you! That's very interesting actually. Sort of goes against the grain of the current thoughts on historical practice but the results absolutely speak for themselves. love the performance!
*Innovate , AMAZING idea) Cellists often play the violin repertoire, but this partita will be really difficult to play. It's perfect fingerboarding* 😍🔥🔥❗🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🎵🎵🎵😍🤣
I really appreciate this performance! Incredible. Bringing Bach's Partitas to life in this way is very special. I shared with my string students who enjoyed it as well. Thank you.
Uma interpretação para escutar ajoelhado diante de tanto talento e técnica. Perfeição absoluta nos movimentos da mão esquerda e total controle do arco dimensionando de forma primorosa o volume e a intensidade de cada nota. BRAVO !!!
Beautiful sound. Fantastic Rohmann Ditta. But, is not a cello piccolo. The cello piccolo is a fuor stringed instrument. The body il almost 68cm. Tuning sol_re_la_mi. Like e violin. A octave lower. The cello in the video is 5strings instrument probably a copy of fratelli Amati. Sorry for the intrusion.
Instead of using Gut Strings (those do break really easily), these are Larsen Flatwound Cello Strings (D'addario Medium Tension Helicore Strings plus a High E would also work) which are far more superior than Gut Strings.
