Hi J, I have just found some time to catch up on my saved episodes and came across this one. You commended the Shida Hito with so much respect and love and it was funny when you said it is not a book for the beginner for whenI first got this book I had just began knitting again, 3 half years ago. I was fortunate to receive this book 2 years ago from my daughter for Christmas🥰 and have yet to work through it but I am glad I watched this episode as I shall now put it in a prominent place so that I can also enjoy stitch by stitch and play with the patterns. Thank you for sharing.

Hi J! I also have this book and you're right! When I reached the symbols page, my brain just shut down. I'm certainly glad I came across your video because you turned my brain back on. I'm not a seasoned knitter, still learning but you're right in looking at this beautiful body of work as a gift of love. I'm beginning to see the patterns a little differently. I might not be able to use the pattern as a whole but there are parts that seem to pop out. I love knitting socks, cowls and small projects and have been looking for patterns that offer wearability and as well as beauty. I think I found one source for that inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing this book with us!

I just finished 2 crocheted shawls... My first using pattern except my own stitching. I need to learn how to expand my knitting skills. If I studied books, that may help, huh? You are a wonderful inspiration to many, I'm sure. You are to me... for sure!! 😊

Hello beautiful lady ,I love the fan it makes me think of peacock feathers. WOW those knitting stitches are gorgeous. Not sure i would have the nerve to try these stitches, I think all I would do is sit and look at the photos and admire the creator's work. I love knitting but not ready for this.....LOL I hope you are doing well and staying out of the pollen. Take care enjoyed the video . Love visiting with you

Hi Michelle and thank you so much for watching. Since I'm older, it's hard to stare at charts and symbols to long, so sometimes I have to write each row out as I work the pattern. This book is great if you have the time to learn some of the Japanese knitting symbols, but the work is just beautiful to look at too! Smiles from J.

It's a WOW book.........just out of curiousity, I noted diagrams for the instructions. Are there also written instructions? Not that I'm thinking of doing any of it (lol)......

I have bought the Japanese version of this book though I didn't notice that there can be a English version of it. I asked the seller about it but they just ignore my query.. plz I want a favor from you could you help me to decode the symbol she using.. like which symbol means what... plz plz.. I cant understand some. the symbols... thanks a lot

Thank you so much for watching, but if you listen to my book review, I said that even the English version is very advanced. I'm not an expert, so just like me, you will have to take one swatch and one stitch at a time if you want to use this book. In my country, the Japanese version is available. Will it be useful even though I don't know the Japanese language?

Thanks for asking, but all of her books are in Japanese. There are some symbols that you may recognize, but most of the symbols, you will have to learn, and how to work them. I don't think that she has any step x step tutorials on RU-vid. If you check Ravelry, there may be a support group for Japanese knitting. I just love the book, and I hope that this helps!
