If Cincinnati and SF go through the season without new contracts for their diva WR championship hopes are completely derailed. That contract stuff spreads through a locker room like the plague…
Yet players get fleeced by teams every day at every team - and nobody says anything. Seems like that contract talk has spread throughout the front office ...
This “the Bengals are so cheap” narrative is so lazy and old. I really can’t believe it’s still being talked about. Chase has 2 years left on his rookie deal. Like many other teams the Bengals don’t typically move on extensions until the final year of the contract. Should they for Chase? Yes! But that doesn’t make them cheap. They made AJ Green, and Chad Ocho the highest paid receivers of their time. They made Geno Atkins the highest paid non QB of his time. Carson Palmer was the highest paid and Andy Dalton was a top 5 in regard to salary. ANDY DALTON. The Bengals pay their guys, they aren’t cheap. What they are, are rigid in their contract structure. Joe Burrow broke their mold. Same way JJ Watt broke the mold for Pitt. These things take time. It will get done, Chase will get paid. It’s just when, not if.
Mike Brown can’t get out of his own way. Remember when he stupidly tried to override the coaching & training staff and told Burrow he wasn’t going to play one week a couple years ago.
If you have burrow and he’s top 3 He can make good receivers great Draft a qb next draft Trade him now if don’t if don’t want to pay him They should have planned for this going into draft and maybe they did.
I think Mike Brown is incredibly stubborn. I really can understand that because I am the say way. However, in this case, apparently Ja'Marr is also incredibly stubborn, which is not a good mix. Ja'Marr deserves to be paid, but he needs to stop with the diva act and get in the game for his teammates if for no other reason.
Sick of it... Higgens can take his spot! LMAO Bengals don't need all the drama... If Chase is actually Holding in.... who knows really. So many fake news situations where people run with it on and on. This was the worst offseason for drama that I have ever witnessed for the Bengals!!! They can win without him! Let him learn that sitting out because of not getting paid early... And the thing that gets me most is all these media crappers talking crap all over the place about stuff they tend to speculate about. Half the time it's not even true!!! The media is the reason for all this crap... Evey channel is talking about it on RU-vid!!!! Fake news spreads like wildfire!!! LMAO Hey Media Crappers!!!!!! Chase has 2 years left on his contract!!! DUUUUHHHH LMAO It has NOTHING TO DO WITH Ceeeeeeedee Lamb OR ANY OTHER PLAYER HOLDING OUT ON THEIR 4TH YEAR!!!! Maybe the Bengals have it in the budget for next season but not this one... How do you know what you are even talking about!!! Shut up about the Bengals how's about that!!!!....
This is just ridiculous with players and salaries. The league just need to have salary caps on all positions. All Wr, QB, etc. Can make at most x amount.
@Danguardace17 ok know it all. I'm not saying that is the best decision but that what is next....Players demanding $100 million a year or they won't play? These salaries are only going up. Last I checked the highest paid player per year right now is 61.3 million
@@Chrisday90So the better solution would be to line the pockets of 32 billionaires lol? Or would you also push for a government mandate on sports teams capping price of services and goods?
Dude the market and revenue the league generates is what causes their salaries to increase. As long as the NFL's revenue increases annually the salaries will do the same. Doesn't come out our paycheck so f it.
Chase is set to make over 30M the next two years. That is a very good payday on a rookie contract. If a player is making 20-30 million and not preforming up to the contract they are not giving 5 million back to the organization to be payed fairly, then why is there an expectation that when player is providing more production than there $worth they need to increase there contract that is again still fruitful? This should go both ways. I side with Mike Brown and the organization on this one. I am tired of these Media heads just saying write the check for the 260 Million that he is asking for and move on. This is a family business the Browns, and that still is a lot of money to give to a non-QB, especially when the player is still on a 2-year-contract. Why do these folks defend the player and criticize the owners so easily. Shouldn't it be the other way around?
Chase has 2 years on contract, dude is a millionaire baby...................... Tired of these over payed kids if I were Bengals I would trade him before he becomes a bigger cancer.
Best SB window last 20 years and they don’t got the balls to send this dude packing and build- KC did the same with tyreek and got McDuffie and two rings
Yeah they only have the best QB ever, best TE ever, and best offensive coach ever. And a generationally great DT. That’s all it takes. I’m sure the bengals have all that so no big deal.
@@Chiefs555 also ..burrow is much more comparable to mahomes than people want to admit .. burrow slayed Nick Saban multiple times in one season before he got to this league and he is the only kryptonite for mahomes ..no one else ..not Allen ..not Herbert…not Lamar …Burrow is the only thing stopping Jordan… i mean .. mahomes…
I think Mike Brown is the smartest owner of them all. $100mil for a WR is too much. It is the most vulnerable and easily targeted position in football. Rvery $100mil WR is a massive liability. Cee Dee lambs touchdowns to millions of dollar ratio is insane. Like 1 TD per $3mil is best possible outcome. Snd youre going to send $36mil of CAP MONEY over the middle on a crosser or a slant? You throwing him into a safety at the goal line?
Define smart. Smart would be winning championships, he has won 0. Been to the SB once in 33 years, very much due to the person he doesn't want to negotiate with.
@@georgecahi dont think you can say that. In the playoffs it was very much a strong defensive performance. But yea hes a great player but receivers dont have the impact that QBs have. What great receiver did the chiefs have?
@@JordanT3025 yep. My point exactly. With a good QB you dont need a great receiver you can do it with a decent tight end and some halfway ok receivers. KC Oline was really good last year even though kelce kind of fell off comparitively to his early career and no star receiver
