It's a bit like how the nba treated rodman. They want to be seen as family friendly entertainment which means keeping a sqeaky clean image. Like drinking is probably legal where you are, and in some countries prostitution is as well, but you wouldn't want to see your prime minister getting hammered and going to a brothel.
