Originally this was Fat Joe's song. Fat Joe said "First of all, it was my record. Ja was trying to come back, and I just told you how he saved my life with What’s Luv [after Pun died]. So I gave it to him and I was like, ‘Yo, my nigga, this is crazy.’ And at the time I think I was just cocky, like I just make hits like it’s a joke. Like, ‘Ahh, here, I’ll make another one tomorrow.’
It was a beat he turned down or didn't want to play with. Fat joe never gave it to Ja rather Dre gave it to Irv and Ja. Even the beat was pushed to Jada. But when Irv and Ja worked it then they all realised it was crazy and jumped in.
@@AndreDike That's what Fat Joe said and you can't argue with what Fat Joe said about the track cause he would obviously know better than anyone why he gave the song away. After Fat Joe turned the song down, Jadakiss was said to be interested in the track but Ja Rule grabbed it almost immediately. When Irv Gotti found out that it was originally for Fat Joe, he mentioned it to Ja Rule and they offered for both Fat Joe and Jadakiss to be featured on the track. Fat Joe even said “We kind of gassed Jadakiss to get involved”
