He did it bc the Separatists took his son. In an "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" sort of way, he called on the Jedi to rescue his son in exchange for use of the Hutt-controlled hyperspace lanes, which was a valuable bargaining chip given that the Separatists controlled most of the lanes. It was basically a deal.
The Hutts could outlive the whole human race. They live for 100s of years. Even in jail. Jabba told a bounty hunter to kill a Sith lord. He knows how bad a Sith can be.
Roles: Jabba Hutt makes a cameo in episode 1 The Phantom Menace, a main character in the Star Wars movie The Clone Wars, a recurring character in Clone Wars 2008-2020, a minor character in episode 4 A New Hope, and the main antagonist in the beginning from episode 6 Return of the Jedi. Along with Boba Fett is Han Solo's arch enemy.
When I saw jabba's son reunited with jabba my heart melted it made my tears to come out I know what a father and a son felt when they haven't seen each other for a long time and I was crying what a happy ending for jabba and his son
It's by far the oldest being that the puppet was featured in Return of the Jedi in 1983 vs the CGI version in The Phantom Menace from 1999 and the CGI version in the 2004 special edition of A New Hope, but yet the puppet from Return of the Jedi in 1983 has aged like fine wine. Can't say the same for the outdated CGI versions. Have you seen the CGI version from the 1997 special edition of A New Hope? It's by far the worst CGI version of the lot.
@@TheThingKingI genuinely think Lucas was smoking crack when he re-added that deleted scene back in. The cgi there wasn't even good for 1997 standards, not to mention it doesn't even look like jabba
The puppet makes him look more realistic, with the slobbering and mucus, the tongue movement, iris enlarging and shrinking, his fat slug look, how he clearly has to hold his weight a when moving slowly
Does Jabba know that the winner of that pod-race in Episode 1 would grow to be the jedi that nearly killed him in the Clone Wars movie and then in Episode 6 he would have captured that jedi's children (who the Jedi (at that point a sith) never knew about until they were fully grown adults) and that the daughter would kill the 600 year old hutt
Jabba is probably one of, if not the most impressive puppet in the history of cinema. The eyes are so lifelike, and the fact the pupils can dilate is phenomenal. The lighting helps a lot, too.
what kind of puppetry are u guys watching bc it’s such an amazing art form.. star wars and dark crystal and muppets? hard to think of any situation where cgi has looked better than puppets, and they’re usually used for different things.
He hits the gong by biting something's head off and spits it at it. The guy's a class act. I love how the auto generated credits have him saying "let's go to basketball," when he first steps out onto the balcony at the beginning of the first scene. We're shirts, apparently jabba's team are skins. 🤢
7:58 That detail right here, it connects to episode 6 where c 3po was warned that the last protocal droid that upsetted jabba was vaporized. I wonder what the protocal droid seen in the clone wars earlier did to make him mad.
For some unknow reason i like the hutts species, i hope we see more of they in New starwars séries movies etc and i also want to know what The fuck whapened do hutta aka stinky
Not to mention his ROTJ appearance only starts after 9mins, he left so much of an impression in just 6mins of screen time that it has so far created 9mins of essentially fan service (plus however long you wish to add for other Hutts in the Star Wars canon)
0:20 this part never needed to be included in the movie but it makes it that much more funny. why in gods name did jabba just knock this little creature off? he was just sitting there man
@@BowserFilthFederation thats true but no matter how strong the giant space slug is it cant survive being strangled to death and blown up thats just ridiculous
@Chris-tf2bm The CGI version of Jabba in The Phantom Menace & A New Hope (2004) have aged poorly. They look like cartoons. The puppet version of Jabba in Return of the Jedi still looks amazing.
A Real Gangster. He liked getting high. Stinking and slobbering. Eating lizards. Exotic dancers of all species. Bondage with chains. Corrupt dealings. Murdering with no remorse. Bib Fortuna stayed kissing Jabba's nonexistent ass. A legend.
He kinda reminds me of Mr Swackhammer from space jam. He too also likes to enslave while gambling for power and entertainment. I wish someone should draw a picture of swackhammer as jabba, while he use Lola as Leia, for his bikini slave girl.
Basically a powerful, mafia boss who just happens to control a very critical space "territory" that requires you to be in his favor to get safe passage. No biggie.
I like the part when jabba enjoys a pod race like he would witness who will win and who will lose. He kinda reminds me of swackhammer from space jam whole also enjoys watching a game.
1:58 Dooku was no innocent! Him and the CIS abducted his son to frame the innocent Jedi secretly, Dooku tricked and lied to Jabba for hiding the edivence.
So kind of fun fact, the mighty jabba was about 600 years old when he died which means that his father the mighty Zorba Desilijic Tiure was a little huttlet during the rule of darth bane
I hope so too but it seems they made up their own big bad with the “twins”, they’re newly written but there was a comic with hurt siblings so they could’ve used that as a source from legends
