Yeah - a wire can simply transmit so much more data that you will always have a better sound. Some of the new slipstream wireless devices like Corsair HS80 come close with excellent sound but they require using a dongle that you are guaranteed to lose at some point.
Thanks for watching! We're happy to hear you're liking the new headset. Let us know if we can help in the future or if you have any other video ideas you'd like us to consider.
The mic is facing AWAY from the fan. If the fan is on the other side, facing the mic boom, you would probably need a windscreen. I'm glad you did the dogs barking test. 🐶 I have a pack and they like to party party during my meetings.
Ya'll make me want to step up my content game every time a new video is released. Even doing a dog barking test! Snap ya'll the 👑 of headset reviews dang it. lol
Thanks, Adam! The motto is to always keep improving. The only way we've been able to do this is from everyone commenting and providing feedback to help us get better. See you at the top :)
Been using this wired headset since Nov 2023. Main compliant is the headset is NOT comfortable to wear for long periods. I find myself having to adjust the headset after an hour or so to get it into a comfortable position. Didn’t realize it had moderate noise cancellation capability. Good to know.
Ya comfort level is subjective for different people. But I agree there are more comfortable options available now. if you need some help finding a new more comfortable option let us know headsetadvisor.com
I bought this based on this video and other reviews, but the mic has absolutely no noise cancelling when I tried recording without going on call. It picks up minute sounds, and my voice sounds muffled and far away through this. Does the noise cancelling only work while on calls?
Hi JC, what did you record with and it's important to check the mic gain to ensure it's not at 100%. The mic won't block out 100% of noises but it will help reduce them so your experience doesn't sound normal.
@@HeadsetAdvisor @Headset Advisor I wanted to test the mic quality thru my system voice recorder, and couldn't observe any noise cancelling. However on calls today though, no one's been able to hear any background noise inspite of the commotion around!! That was shocking! So it made me wonder if I want to record a song or a speech on my phone or laptop, wouldn't it cancel surrounding noise?
@@JC-lg4fz Hello. Were you able to fix your microphone problem? I have already taken the third headset and the same problem - there is no microphone noise cancellation
Is there a wired Jabra headset that has control buttons on the wire and not on the headset? Its inconvenient to click on the mute button on the headset esp. when you're on a call.
Yes, the Evolve 40 has it on the cord instead of the headset. headsetadvisor.com/products/jabra-evolve-40-replacement-headset-duo-14401-10?_pos=5&_sid=723f47c2d&_ss=r
Hi Terence, the microphone can be adjusted in your computer sound settings to be at a level best for you, but this headset is designed for calls and will sound great. The Rhode studio mic is always going to give the best voice quality but most people won't want to use a podcast type microphone for business use.
If I make changes to the settings using the app on my personal laptop then use the headset on my work laptop (which doesn’t allow software installation), will the settings remain as I had set them on my personal laptop? I think it’s a common question seeing many use office provided laptops with these headsets.
Good point yes it will store the settings you put through the Jabra direct software but you may be limited on compatibility for answering and ending calls if you can’t download Jabra direct. Btw we also created an app to find the best noise cancelling mic check it out vote.headsetadvisor.com
It’s a hard question to answer because everyone’s level of comfort is different. I’d say after about 4 hours i can feel the fatigue, but once I take it off for about 10 minutes it’s fine for many more hours.
It was very nice explanation and I am very happy if you provide solution or suggestion for my problem i.e currently I am using the Jabra Evolve2 40 wired headset from past 1 year but recently I have received updated from the IQoo neo6 software version after few days I am unable to connect this headset is there any possible solution for this issue.
Hi, I just got this headset not realizing it’s a USB-C connector. The vendor I bought from doesn’t allow returns unless proven defective. Would I be able to use this device through a USB-C to USB-3.0 converter ?
Is it worth buying Evolve1 40 if i already own Evolve2 20? Im looking for better speaker quality and i use it for work calls, i know 40 has 40mm speaker i think.
Hi Krishna, the Evolve2 40 is a pretty big upgrade in regards to speaker quality. You can adjust the EQ settings as well from Jabra direct to adjust it to your speaker audio preferences.
Hello friend, I need to use a USB-C to USB-A adapter to connect it to my computer. Do you have any idea if this could affect the quality of the experience and its functionalities? Thanks! A hug from Argentina.
I know this is not full over ear like the Evolve 80, how would this be for a noisy office environment? I need to drown out a few loud co-works so I can better concentrate and hear myself think!
Hi Marni, this works well in an office environment with people talking around you. If you were in an extremely loud environment of say 20 people all talking at the same time then something that fully encloses your ears would probably be better.
Hey Mate How would you rate the ear cups comfort for long calls considering you are wearing spectacles and so do I 😀.. Your feedback would be appreciated.. thanks
Hi Rohan, for me personally I can wear the headset all day long and it's very comfortable. Sometimes I take off the headset for a few minutes to give my ears a rest.
@@HeadsetAdvisor Thanks for your reply. I have heard few people complaining about the discomfort they get as spectacle frame is pressed against the ears due to evolve 2 40 ear cups.
I would like to know if the sound quality drops when the microphone is on. I use speech recognition and listen to music at the same time, and some headsets sound quality drops a lot when you turn on the microphone, like the poly voyager focus 2.
Yes, when mic is in use you won't get stereo sound. That's how it is for any headsets we've tested as of yet. You could consider getting any pair of headphones of your choice and adding the Modmic here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Tut1KDa_S3M.html This would accomplish the goal to have best speaker and mic quality at all times.
The microphone performance is as is with or without the software. The software is only for headset customizations or firmware updates. If you need an extra level of microphone noise cancellation give neep.com a look.
Can you use this headset without the software with full functionality? My workplace for example won’t let us install anything unauthorized on the computers.
The Evolve2 40 can be plugged in and used with your computer, right out of the box. No problem. The Jabra Direct software is designed to allow for firmware updates, and adjustments to audio characteristics on certain models. But, you should have no problem using it as configured. A lot of companies have restrictions on downloading software, so I understand your situation.
If you ordered from us, please contact us so we can assist. Otherwise, we'd advise contacting Jabra tech support to see if there's a setting that needs to be adjusted.
Your video's are very helpful thank you for creating this video's tried to order this from you website but I was disappointed since you only ship to Canada and USA 😔
Hi Jonathan, the mic noise cancellation is built in but check in your computer if you have a setting called “Intel smart technology” if so disable this. Start menu > device manager > video game controllers and sound > disable Intel smart technology
@@HeadsetAdvisor thank you for the response, but I dont have Intel smart technology. im running AMD CPU and i checked the video game controllers and sound, no smart tech on the options.
I bought these headsets and they don't have any noise canceling on the microphone, can you help me (is it a defect)? The busylights also don't turn on, I tested on discord, google meet and they don't turn on and are activated in the settings. The microphone records a lot of my breaths, keyboard sounds, and any sound around (even sewing my beard).
Hi Jose, did you download Jabra direct and update the headset and Link 380 adapter? Also, make sure you’re not connecting to the computer with Bluetooth and using the Link 380 adapter. If this doesn’t help, downloading krisp.ai would be something else to consider.
Hi Robert, this doesn't. This has a USB only connection. There's another option to consider that includes USB and 3.5mm here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-I2tJ5rZIoII.html
I just received my Jabra Evolve2 40 thinking that it will help me to eliminate the background noise, but it's not. It's not reducing the noise at the background. Can someone help me if there's something I need to install to eliminate the background noise?
Hi Marvin, sorry to hear that. Have you downloaded Jabra direct and updated the headset? Also, check to make sure the mic gain isn’t at 100%. You may also want to look into Krisp.ai if neither of those tips help.
@@HeadsetAdvisor Yes. I downloaded the Jabra direct and it shows that it's up to date. Firmware version is 2.10.0 for the device and then Software for the Jabra direct is 6.0.12901. I do not see the mic gain option to make changes. Where can I see that?
@@marvincarranza9681 It won't eliminate 100% of the background noises but it should help reduce them. If that's not happening, trying a replacement, downloading Krisp.ai or trying a different headset model would be a few suggestions we'd recommend.
If someone can help please before I buy it. My work iMac has restrictions so i wouldn't be able to download the Jabra app so can i update and adjust settings on a personal pc then it will be saved on the headset or not ?
Definitivamente no hagan caso a este video, después de ver este review, y otros de internet, decidí comprarlos y se escucha el ruido del exterior, incluso los que no son tan fuertes. Lo de la licuadora a un lado es pura estafa.
I bought this headset too, but very disappointed with it. The sound from the earpieces is usually very weak and thin. Almost not bass. The biggest issue is its unstable performance. When the headset is used for an online class, the sound may suddenly drop very weak. I have to increase the volume up to 85% at least. And then after a while, it becomes very loud! In a word, expensive and disappointing.
Hi Ben, have you tried updating the headset within Jabra Direct? If not, give that a try. Also, within Jabra direct you can adjust the EQ settings that’s best for you to give you more or less bass.
Sorry to hear your dissapointment. Below are some troubleshooting steps to try. 1. If connecting with a mobile phone, check to see if you have voice isolation or noise suppression you can enable. 2. If connected to a computer, downlod Jabra Direct and run through a firmware update. 3. Connect with your computer using the USB Dongle, not Bluetooth. 4. If connected to windows go to start menu > device manager > sound and video game controllers > If you have "intel smart sound digital mic" or "intel smart sound USB" disable both of these and restart your computer. Let us know if any of these suggestions help.
