I like how you always get into the music (definitely relate to that). Despite that side comment, good comparison. I own a Speak2 75 and went for it to pick up my wife's voice whenever we have conferences with family (we've moved abroad, therefore those became quite often). Standard laptop mic always cut her off. It is also an amazing experience to let go of headphones for home conferences (doing a lot lately). I wondered if you could compare the speaker quality between series (40 x 55 x 75). I don't know how much you'd loose listening to music between 75 and 55 series. It also worth mentioning that you can only use Sound+ mobile app to pair with 75 series (customize audio frequencies, etc) And if Jabra ever review public commenting over their products, it would be really nice if they can put some effort on all product lineups when it comes to background noise suppression. I'm huge fan of the brand, but they always lack this topic against major competitors. Perhaps use eardrums vibrations to sync what is actually your voice and not someone else passing by for earbuds as an example. Great job!

I just want to buy Speak2 75 ( I have already had 750 ). But hearing the microphone performance that do not have noise cancellation, I think I will keep using 750 then.

I think they may not be providing the noise cancellation and instead letting the meeting platform handle it like Teams or Zoom. This prevents competing noise cancellation issues.

Great devices, however it’s clear their background noise rejection isn’t great. If you’re in a noisy environment, you’re better off with a headset.

newer laptops completely remove background noise. But you're right these new jabras have no noise cancellation. I think they just enhance voices instead. Because he's voice became a litle bit more clearer then with he's laptop. But the noises were still as anoying and impossible to use during a call.

you will loose the ability of stereo music (no jabra link) and no bluetooth multi point to connect two your laptop and your phone at the same time. 710 is just fine, I would stay with it. If you haven't a second one, get a second one, the music i super good when you have a pair of 710 devices

Great review. I work in a quiet private office. Typically I wear earbuds (currently Jabra Elite 85t) to work seamlessly between Zoom, Softphone, and Phone. I believe that the Speak2 55 would improve my workflow in several ways ... but I worry about the microphone quality as compared to the ear buds (headphone's aren't an option for the type of video calls I participate in). I'm having a difficult time finding tests or even a discussion online with this use case. Any experience/thoughts?
@HeadsetAdvisor
@HeadsetAdvisor 10 месяцев назад
Thank you for your feedback! The microphone quality will probably be about the same or less as earbuds, depending how close you are to the speakerphone. You could also consider adding neep.com noise canceling software to reduce echo and always be heard clearly, even if there's background noise.
@rexboyd6570
@rexboyd6570 10 месяцев назад
@@HeadsetAdvisor I can confirm that the Jabra Speak2 55 in my testing on both a USB -> Computer & a Bluetooth -> Phone connection has quite a bit better sounding microphone as compared to my Jabra Elite 85t with similar tests. I tested both with local recording software on each device and it is signficant ... even if wandering around my small office with my back to the microphone. Terrific device that I'd recommend for my use case without question. I should also add that true duplex is a gamechanger for the types of meetings I'm in which often include interuptions and spirited discussions.

You don’t need to pay extra for wireless dongle with PC. Bluetooth works just fine, you just lose the Teams integration. Additionally the microphone sounds tinny. you get better results with a USB mic, and the noise reduction within Teams (AI powered) that also normalise speaker volume does a better job. Sure for a conference room this is great. But for working from home, you’d better off with a pair of speakers and a decent USB mic from likes of Rode/Blue/Shure
@HeadsetAdvisor
@HeadsetAdvisor Год назад
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Adding to this, you lose more than Teams integration without the USB dongle. Bluetooth on a computer sometimes works well and other times doesn’t, so the Dongle is important if you want the best wireless connection, and advanced features with compatible apps like Teams, Zoom, RingCentral etc.. It all depends on your exact needs when working from home, sometimes you’re right a mic and speaker setup would be best. In other cases a speakerphone like this sounds plenty fine for calls/meetings and gives you added flexibility to easily take it with you on the go, or use it in a group conference meeting.

Thank you. Its frustrating to be work from home 100% sometimes. I have not been able to find a nice upgrade from the Speak 510. And now after hearing there is no noise cancellation, I am back to square 1. I have bought and returned two other speakerphones due to poor performance with Teams, including echos and static while I am speaking. The 510 is bulletproof reliable but has tinny speakers and mics. Is there any other options out there in the $200-250 price range. Thank you

I am not in a loud environment unless my dog barks once in a while which is not the issue. Please advise. Thank you!!
@HeadsetAdvisor
@HeadsetAdvisor Год назад
It sounds like a speakerphone may not be best for your application. A headset would probably be a better way to go. Otherwise you could consider to get some sort of USB condenser microphone for voice and the Jabra speaker to hear (we don’t recommend this but is possible)

Eh...I have a Speak2 55 on order waiting to ship (for like a month now). After hearing the (lack of) noise cancelling, I'm thinking of just keeping my 750. If Jabra is reading this comment...For the future, can we get a giant ass button in the middle that shows red/green and anyone can mash it to mute? I use my 750 all day, most every day with calls for multiple people...and unless you're right on top of it, its hard for folks to see if you're muted. Its even harder for someone else to actually find the tiny hidden mute button to mute.

@@HeadsetAdvisor I mean I would like to listen via laptop using bluetooth as e.g. and speakerphone as audio input. So it means I can play from laptop but use Jabra speak as an audio type.

Charming and compelling review of the Jabra Speak 2. Thank you. I wonder why they have left the cable head hanging out, especially a USB-A connector that appears to be permanently dangling from the USB-C cable. Is it possible to slide it out? Considering it's a Bluetooth device, I'm left wondering why the cable remains so conspicuously visible, almost as if consistently prompting you to use it. Is the Bluetooth connection really that unreliable? 5.1 in 5.3 times? Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but I fail to discern a single advantage of having the cable perpetually attached to the device. This notion appears to be so unfavorable that the dangling cable head is noticeably absent from their advertisements and most of the reviews I've come across. What if the cable becomes damaged? Given that it's a cable that's repeatedly connected and disconnected, much like a rabbit, it's susceptible to wear and tear. Could you shed some light on this matter?
