I was happy to see Iris Adrian in this episode -- she was great on his radio series, usually as a waitress, but she was especially great in the radio ep. in which she played his wife in their version of "The Snows of Kilimanjaro", which was the Susan Hayward part. I was also happy to see Artie Auerbach as Mr. Kitzel and Benny Rubin as the mover using the show tickets as a shim. Joe Besser was far funnier in this show than he was with the Stooges. Eddie Anderson was always very great -- he showed a little of his dancing ability in this one. I do think that Jack's (post world war II when Dennis came back from the navy, and they still had Phil) radio show was the best comedy of any medium. Not only did they have a top regular cast, but the occasional characters like Kitzel, S. Leonard (and at least once) B. Rubin as the tout, Mel Blanc's many characters, Gertrude Gearshift by Bea Benadaret (along with her other characters) and Mabel Flapsaddle by Sara Berner (and her other characters) -- although it sounded like Shirley Mitchell played Mabel late in the radio run -- and Frank Nelson's Yesss Man. I think B. Rubin played the "I don't know" man also. At least once in that era, Andy Devine came back and was a delight -- just think of those two unique voices of his and E. Anderson's. Richard Lane was very enjoyable as Jack's publicity man: a role in which he showed his versatility, since he usually played serious roles. There were others whom I forget, but no one should forget the great writers the show had. That was some show: the radio show of that era, but I have always liked his TV show too. I remember it from the late fifties to the mid sixties.
