I “met” Jack in Charlotte while he was filming Shallow Hal. I was a fan of The D at this point but he was still little known. I went to a hornets game on a weeknight. Quarter ends and I go to get a beer. I’m standing in the long line (yes NBA had long lines back then, and I turn around and he’s standing there. I did a double take and caught his eyes. He recognized that I recognized him. He put his arms up in a TRex pose, hissed at me then glided off to another line.

Of course, if they're fortunate enough to see him in Bernie or even that _single_ episode of X-Files he did (with Giovanni Ribisi), it begins to become clear that...much like Robin Williams..there's much more to him than just varying degrees of spasmodic intensity. Now I want to see Jack Black do a one shot on critical role just to see how much energy can be done between him and Sam Reigel. Just the sheer energy they both have would be amazing to see how it would react.

His Tropic Thunder Water Buffalo story had me in stitches! He's got an effortlessly funny charm to him. It's not overbearing, it's natural and so endearing.
