as a texan, i agree on Jack Black getting an Oscar. He represents a Texas man so well and from all the interviews I've watched with actual Bernie he matched all of his mannerisms well.
Jack, you are so awesome and so so talented. This is my favorite role to date. Plus, based on real life. I am happy this movie was made and with you. No other could have done this so well. Plus, your voice, is over the top! Thanks again. Also, Mr. Linklater, thank you so much for all you did to bring this real life story to life. I was so excited when Bernie was realeased early and so sad when he was sent back with the appeal. If anyone can handle prison life, I am sure it is Bernie with the personality and lust for life even after being abused. Thanks to Bernie also, you have made me want to be a better person in life and give back and help others. Nancy In Colorado.
It looked to me like Black is very shy, like many actors. He became animated and excited when talking about working with MacLaine and seemed to enjoy making fun of Nacho Libre. Black was amazing in Bernie.
I just saw the movie and..wow...seeing Jack in that role, made me even a bigger fan of his. He is such a talented actor and the movie was very interesting...I suggest you all see it guys and gals!
Jack Black is a cool guy. Another on my list of favorites: Clint Eastwood, James Earl Jones, Jack Nicholson, Adam Sandler, etc.. It would be nice if the interviewers noticed and cared that he was probably sleepy, and let him relax.
Reading the comments I notice again, that, no matter how Jack is behaving in an interview, people will always claim "hahah, he's high!". Tired? Not feeling well? Maybe just concentrating? Nooooo, high, ahahahaah, he's Jack Black, he must be high. Get a life, guys, the man is doing his work here.
@TheEliimak I was actually thinking that same thing. Until I thought maybe the "real" Jack Black is the guy getting interviewed. Different people have different outlooks on life.
***** No I've seen it, but as of now he doesn't. Confirmed by him, but I bet you he still on it. Its like your friend who always says that they'll quit tomorrow, but you know they won't lmao XD
Its pretty obvious what the ending is. Its a true story. You are probably the type of person who got pissed off when you heard the titanic sinks at the end.
No, that's how they express boredom .. "You are making me do this...this is so boring I can barely stay awake... give me entertaining questions or I'm sleeping right here". Passive aggressive hollywood
He was a happy fellow, helping and kind, holding in hate all his life! then this woman, was pushing, pitching and complainging about him all the time! when a genuinely nice guy snaps, its dangerous! Thats actually fact not fiction! if you hold your fealings inside for a long time and they burst out, it can infact end in murder! he should ofc be punished! Im just sayin, even sane people can get so angry that they do unstable shit!
I like Jack Black; he was fantastic in this film, but come on, "then there was bernie...etc I am surprised Jack Black is judging Tiede's personality after meeting him in prison. Nah, shooting a frail old woman in the back is not what a nice, sane person would do - especially after living the high life on her money and hospitality. Of course, Tiede was a con man.
Seeing Jack Black like this is weird. I'm so used to him being to funny. Bernie wasn't as weird because he was acting and I acknowledge it but in this interview he just looks so bored and tired.
What about all the other questions he asked? He didn't care about them? They talked about Bernie being gay for exactly 45 seconds out of eight minutes and they all asked several questions. So why are you obsessed with that tiny part of it?
Guy Baldridge he actually doesn't smoke. He did an episode with Doug Benson on "Getting Doug with High" and he said he doesn't ever smoke and he actually had a bad "trip" after smoking. Episodes are on RU-vid.
What's up with the stupid laughters and gigglings everytime Jack says something... Feels like a bunch of 20 years old excited to interview a star. Except that the topic WAS serious until the giggling started...
