The young musician looks up to the musicians, bands, of their favorite tunes: and when having the opportunity to be on stage with them "Plays Up with them, learning the musical sense". Jack is a clear minded guy, and probably Tina being a clear minded person, readily took to Jack to be one her solid players. Many years ago, Jack borrowed one of my Rodgers toms for some months. I then went to the farm north of Albany and picked it up from him. Probably, because of his real experience, Jack was also making the mes'g to me that I needed stick snare control at the center, and "ride" and tempo. The bandleaders need the drummer to be Center Man, not Side Man. That's what they got with Jack. The real good example of Jack with Joe Cocker is the '97 Live show at Berlin: "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood". In that, the music and drumming is only the music; all musicians ~ the music texture at the fingertips. Real distinct. I put it up on my own FB site, which I call "Blues Room ~ Green Room. The good Blues Rock, for those who like it.".

I'm a drummer as well, I took my little sister to see Tina Turner at Wembley Stadium in the '90's. As always I spent a lot of the gig watching the drummer. Jack did not disappoint. When Tina was introducing the band, he got such a huge and long cheer compared to everyone else! I had never heard of him before that gig. Great interview, really enjoyed it. Thanks.

Jack is really my favourit drummer. Seen a lot of Joe Cocker and Tina Turner shows. When you say LESS IS MORE it's jack bruno's signature. He never makes mistakes. His style is laid back but soooo good. Keep it simple. Just from looking how he plays i really learned so much. Really incredible. Thank you very much MR. Bruno.

Jack is an amazing drummer and deserves way more attention! There are only few drummers that can play a song like he does .

Playing drum with the queen is demanding and need special skills as she's always intense on stage....and Jack nailed it always....the best performance for me was the one during new year eve 1982 in L.A (Nice & Rough) Jack and Tina were both glowing in that show... Thanks a lot Jack...you was my mentor....i fall in love with drums because of you and watching you playing when I was a child....and specially because that show of 1982 ... I fall in love in both Tina and the drums ....thanks a lot for inspiring me.... You are the best... Best wishes from Egypt 💝

Wow jack bruno!! What a smoking class drummer guy. thank's dom for another one.. Dom my father and uncles knew him when they were younger in boston and it's so weird becouse they would alway"s talk about his drumming and my father and uncle's didn't even play a musical instrument and for year's they would alway's mention his name, that just goes to show you how much of an impact he made as a younger musician in boston. Think about the stuff he's done in his career what an icon he is!!!! Viva jack bruno!!!.

Have liked him ever since I watched Joe Cocker’s “The Letter” online. Saw him last night in Maine playing with Jim Messina and he is just as powerful and tight as always, at 72!!! 👏

I absolutely love Jack Bruno. I wish I would have met him at the beginning of my career instead of at the end. I have NEVER played with a more consummate professional musician. He made everyone's job easier. I will see him in January and cannot wait. Love ya Jack!!!

though I'm no expert I just know that the right drummer when asked for a recording or touring simply makes the difference. There's just a handful of drummers that have that special quality to make that happen. Someone like Steve DiStanislao and oh yes for sure Jack Bruno. They make the difference between nice and really good! understatement!

Dom, as usual you ask only the right questions. I am so grateful you were able to nail Jack Bruno down for this interview. He is so amazing, and all drummers should aspire to try to be like him in so many ways: attitude, confidence, diversity, and the ability to nail it every time.

In 1999, I flipped the TV channel over to watch "Divas Live" and Elton John was doing "I'm Still Standing." I was absolutely blown away by the drummer on this tune, but had no idea who he was. He was so tight and in the pocket and his fills were very tasteful. He truly drove that song like I'd never heard. Fast forward to today, I stumbled across the video of that performance (see the link) and was again totally impressed. After doing a little online research, I discovered it was Jack Bruno. I had never heard of him, but wow, -- what a player! Here's the song -- I'm Still Standing -- that introduced me to this amazing musician. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DdxBQY9j8Ik.html

Does anybody know (or PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ask Dom Famularo to ask him next time...) which snare drum Jack Bruno used to record "Summer In The City", Joe Cocker's Have a Little Faith album- DE-LI-CIOUS sound, bite, crack... Although David Beal in Cocker's Unchain My Heart has that crack and bite we all love- Was it a Joe Cocker thing, telling his drummers:"Hey, dude, I love it cracking'"...?
