Lewis, thank you so much for sharing this video! I am a social drinker like Jack; I only drink 1-2 times on the weekend and a month ago as I was cleaning out my garage feeling slightly hungover, I listened to this Podcast. That day I set a goal to go 30 days without drinking and as of today, that goal has been achieved! I'm more productive and have better energy, and don't see a need to go back to drinking again. I appreciate you for all of the great content that you share. Keep up the good work!

Great vid, again Lewis & Jack! I like how Jack advises to really centralize your core values and remember who you are. Also, when he speaks on visualization, I love that he acknowledges the fact that your subconscious mind works on your plans while you're not working. Thinking is working, but when you're not consciously at it, you're still making progress. Good topic about being uncomfortable... I've seen a ton of people being 'uncomfortable in their own skin' at high school & college parties, which is sad. People always would ask me how I still had fun without drinking, but it always helped to improve my social skills without it. "It's not against you, it's for me" Funny, just like you Lewis, I've never been drunk haha! What an interesting new perspective on AA... I never thought it about that, but people keep affirming the thing they don't want to be; no wonder they relapse! The mindset it that once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic, and I'm not so sure it's that black and white! I love William James too and that picking up a new habit idea is a great one. Jack's Top 3 Takeaways 1. Choose love not fear 2. Have more fun 3. Appreciate those in your life Thanks a ton for the nuggets of wisdom! - Evan

Right here i want to share this my phrase with you " I shall read myself out of Ignorance and i shall think myself into knowing; I shall write myself out of Poverty and i shall Talk myself into abundance"-Eddie Rocksteady How can you feel Abundance when you are Broke? - This is a Question that one of my students asked me a few days ago. I have no Doubts that you or someone reading this will provide an answer to this Question.

Hi Lewis how are you doing man?this is the 3rd podcast of yours that I have watched. I really enjoyed your interviews with Andy Puddicombe and Dan Harris. It is clear that Jack Canfield has a great knowledge of recovery and of life in general, however this interview felt more like an extended infomercial for Jack Canfield and his products! I actually felt for you,it seemed like you could barely get a word in!! Anyway keep up the good work, I have some good suggestions for future podcasts with powerhouses from the ACT(Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) world such as Russ Harris and Steven Hayes. Both amazing speakers and have tremendous knowledge. Thanks Lewis, Paul from Belfast, Ireland.

I was a weekend binge drinker for 20+ years. 1.5 years ago I decided to try the 30 day challenge as I wasn't feeling well... but then I never started again. My mind was just so much clearer and a lot of the other health issues I was having were gone. The hardest part was social pressure when going out with friends.... but I eventually figured out I could have fun w/out alcohol... and the best thing was I actually remember the good times.

Hi Jack.. I love TFT and am very new to it. My question is, TFT is used to eliminate an unwanted habit/addiction. But what about starting a new n good habit, for eg: to beat laziness/ start exercising ? What is the recipe/ algorithm for that? Anyone can help?

One rule I have with alcohol and crappy foods--NEVER make a habit of bringing it into your home. Do not keep the stuff in your fridge or liquor cabinet. Don't have parties at your house. If you need to drink, go to a bar and when you come home, be done with it. Keeping it in your house makes access way too easy and it becomes a part of your whole day, whole week etc.. if you leave bad habits at the bar or in a certain environment. I understand this isn't great advice for alcoholics, but if you find that you drink weekly..try it.
@markg.4246
@markg.4246 4 года назад
For the chronic alcoholic, recovery is contingent upon two things. The first is to concede to yourself that without help, you’re phuked. The second is to start living in the solution, instead of the problem. If there is no willingness to “live differently”, then once again...you’re phuked!

Finally an intelligent replacement to the ineffective joke that is the twelve step programs. I don't even need to read the book to know its effective bc the routes he is describing get to the root of the problem, beliefs. If you just try to stop an addiction you are missing the point of recovery. You have to go deep enough to find the cause and change it instead of trying to micromanage the effects(the addiction). I commend you. This is what addicts need to hear and act out, not joining some dogmatic ineffective clique posing as recovery.

Might be an “ineffective joke” for you, but ask the millions of individuals and their family members around the world about the restoration of their lives based on the “twelve steps”, and you might actually learn something.
@LVXMagick

@@markg.4246 I never said it helped no one. I'm grateful for the few it does work for. And few may be thousands in the grand scheme but regardless that is still less 12% of people who try the program truly seeking help. If a drug for a sickness was only >12% successful then the FDA wouldn't even approve it. I have talked to people it helped, I've been there and I've studied it. It didn't help me or over 85% of others. So say what you want. I dont care who I offend if it means more people's lives are saved.
