Jack Gleeson REVEALS Why He REALLY Quit Acting.. 

He really made Joffrey both terrifying and childish at the same time which is really hard to balance. The facial expressions and mannerisms really brought the character to life. He’s said before that he based his character off of Joaquin Phoenix’s emperor Commodus from Gladiator. I think he did a damn good job for a 19 year old teenager

You know you're a good actor when the world hates you.... he truly channel the energy of the character he was playing.

To be perfectly honest, Joffrey was the main pull of Game of Thrones for me.

He is a rare type of actor who is too smart to be there, just like Ronald Reagan or something. I usually can't stand to see interviews with american actors, no offense to your country, i love US.

Unless you ever played a really angry or villainess character you would never get how out of this world incredibly tough it is. I can’t say I have played many characters but I’d say playing a villain is by far or even an angry character is so much more harder than it looks. Just to give you an idea about how intense this can be the director will demand you for more and more anger for such a role in his case probably for more and more vicious brutal personal unnatural to who you are that much prolonged anger for over a year is not natural not in anyone. And when you have to do that for a whole year it will affect your relationships with others it will cause you bad health and when you do a good enough job if they don’t even appreciate it I must say it goes without saying being a villain is infinitely the most difficult thing you can play and he’s done it for how long I don’t even know in order to get into character you have to piss off a bunch of people generally that would your cast members get into character till you have no friends in real life just so you can amp up the anger. And while none of us are strangers to being an angry loner to do it for prolonged periods can really F you up in real life I had multiple ulcers and in the end even the director who is telling me a more and more angry bitch eventually took that role from me albeit and put me in another character I was never invited back again (hey you created this monster lol) People can’t appreciate how difficult it is to be villainous and it’s infinitely harder what you would think especially if they’re not giving him any got no other layers to outside of villainy to work with what other results would you expect! Psychologically it has the ability to transform your physiologically. And I didn’t even play a villain but I played to a character who angry all the time I stereotypically stupid was that was my real feelings on it and where near as vicious as Joffrey and even though being angry in my life is quite a natural state for me when your angry all the time or in his case unidentifiable angry, brutal and heartless all the time it can be an entirely a different Game or in Jack Gleason’s case entirely a different Game of Thrones - it would taken it’s toll on his life I’d say To be honest with how realistic he played it - I’m surprised he hasn’t jumped off a cliff. Everybody needs chill the F out if you have been trolling him get a life his exceptional actor that’s it and that’s all! If you hate him to death he’s done his job right - everybody needs to have a reality check his playing a role that’s not who he is! You can be the polar opposite of a character (and really seems he was) and still play an archetype well whether that’s be a villain or hero! Does it help your if you tap into something real if sure but clearly Jack is never been entitled brat king hello nor does he look he’s descended from a bunch of materialistic lords and if you really look at who he seems to be his an exceptionally good person with a rather humble background but that is beside the point what absolutely obvious Is he can act the shit out of a character! Thanks Jack for your exceptional performance of your calibre should not give up an on his gifts!
