shining example of how a captain should act. miss the net. blame the ref, and not play defense. then almost take a ridiculously stupid penalty because his emotions are more important than his team.
Sounds like he’s been taking notes from MacKinnon 😆 Not that he’s the captain, but he essentially has been with Landeskog out the last 2 seasons. And for whatever reason the Avs haven’t named a captain during his 2 year absence…
What a moronic take! He was completely accosted, with a guy literally water skiing behind him while on a breakaway in a crucial game that was tied! He SHOULD BE livid over that not getting called!
Wow I couldnt imagine being as stupid as you. He didnt blame the ref for the missed net, he blamed the ref for a missed call on a breakaway where the ref had absolutely no excuse to do anything other than make the call.
jack Hughes is one of the biggest babies in professional sports history. sure he's good. he's a baby though and it's not a good look especially when you age.
@@njdevilshockey showing emotion and acting like a 3 year old throwing a tantrum are two totally different things. And he’s throwing a tantrum. This is why people don’t like lebron. He’s a baby. Figure it out.
@@njdevilshockey again. throwing a tantrum and giving up a 5-4 rush while you're complaining for ten seconds to the official, not going back on defense, then smashing your stick against the board and putting your team down a man for 2 minutes because you didn't get your way shows how jack Hughes isn't a good leader. the best players don't let their emotions get the best of them like jack does here. thats the difference between great players and The Great Players.
@@njdevilshockey you're obviously a biased devils fan keyboard warrior though so I doubt you'll ever put them under the bus or critique them in any way.
Not a Devils or Kings fan; I just got here via recommended videos. I think it’s pretty goofy to be making videos about/focusing on a player’s frustrated reaction to a play, especially when your team got the win. The case for a penalty here is pretty weak too. I wouldn’t blame a Devils fan for coming in and pushing back. RU-vid isn’t like Reddit. If you make videos about another team’s player and the algorithm brings it to the other team’s fans, they’re under no obligation to refrain from commenting
@@ratiquettethe case for a penalty is factual is weak? It’s simply a fact that if you’re kn the bench and your stick is thrown onto the ice. It’s an automatic 2 and a 10. There’s no case, it’s an automatic rule.
@@ratiquette the fact you’re defending devils fans for harassing other peoples fans in Instagram comments just shows your clearly a devils fan and someone who supports harassment.
@@HockeyFan102 Who's talking about instagram? This is why you don't drink and yt comment 🙄The fact that you're making stuff up about me shows how desperate you are to believe your outrage matters lmao
@@brandonstriegel3461 If you understand hockey you understand that things slide when they're harmless. Unless you want to start assigning personhood to hockey sticks there's no reason to penalize this particular incident. I would feel differently if it were longer after he'd stepped off the ice or he'd thrown the stick further away from the boards. We both know there's a difference between rules as written and rules as applied, and that's by design in the NHL
@@ancientkeyboardwarriorthat’s what am saying ppl keep blaming the teams when it was the refs they js really bad in my op 💀 they’ve been doing bad for the last few games for the devils 🤷🏽♀️
Jack is my favorite player but he acted like a baby. Sure it shoud've been a penalty but you got away with one too, the stick on the ice should've been a 10 minutes.
@CarolinaJonsson-yq4hv He showed last year he can play D. Jack was great defensively last year. Luke has been terrible defensively but he's a rookie. Nico is great defensively but his offense has been very disappointing this year
Oh,wow, you didn't get the call when you were on a breakaway. So what?! You skate until the whistle blows. Hughes takes himself out of the play, which is already heading back to New Jersey's end of the ice,and he's standing there, still looking for a call. Get over it,and get over yourself!
@@christiankristalyn65 Amazing explanation. He didn't hold, he was reaching around him. Thats allowed. His other hand was purposely off of him to show the ref he wasn't holding. Be real, Hughes didn't really have a clean breakaway, and didn't like that he got pressure from behind. That's really what it is, he's a baby.
@@aaronzNJD Oh, oh, someone's feewings are huwt. He acted like a baby. He said something really dumb to the other player before all this. It's pathetic and if you understood the game at all, you'd agree. Till then shhhh and learn to skate before commenting on anything hockey, mmmkay, sport?
Crosby also got the shit kicked out of him with dirty plays. If Steve Downey did what he did to Crosby today the nation of Canada would have a military tribunal to hang him. @@LC-ht7sg
@@TiggaTrey I couldnt disagree more. Hughes tries to shield the puck with his body, and catches a skate and Arvidsson reaches around him and fishes for the puck with his stick. It was a brilliant effort to try to make a play without taking a penalty. If he was trying to commit a penalty to stop him from scoring he could have just tackled him or pulled him down.
Lol clearly not go ahead and Google it, then rewatch, then come back to me to tell me if Hughes was still able to make a play and get the puck off. That’s why there’s no call bud.
@@Tombauer97 I get what you’re saying, but to act like players don’t have emotions and are supposed to do everything right is naive. Was a huge game for both underperforming teams. Refs on both sides were terrible. Let the kid learn he’s almost 5 years younger than you and probably a million times more successful than both of us combined. Easy to chirp and hide in the comments ;)
@@rjconnor688 I’ve seen players his age have way more control of their emotions during important games. He seems like he has a whole lot of growing up to do
That was not a penalty. Victor played good D there. Hughes could have potted that rebound. Missed. Then had a temper tantrum like the entitled spoiled brat he is . He’s barking at ref and smashing his stick. Meanwhile Arvidson gets a 1 timer the other way.
He actually said this to his opponenet before this baby tantrum --People pay money to see me play. What a joke. Devils are a long way from winning a cup, especially with that attitude. Americanizing the game is the worst thing for hockey. Not all Americans, but guys like this are so bad for the game. Team sport, sport. People are paying moeny to see the team. You ain't McDavid or Crosby or MacKinnon so enough of the ego during the game. Makes the other team want to hit him harder.
He's one of my favorite player, but tbh I'll only pay a lot of money to see player like Connor Bedard. But i get it tho, he might just so frustrated cuz he just back from injury
MacKinnon has more than his share of tantrums. That’s why, despite being a life-long Avs fan, every time I think about getting a Mac jersey, I just can’t bring myself to do it. I value character and team effort more than an impressive individual effort. That may land you in the highlight reels in the regular season, but it doesn’t amount to anything in the playoffs. Though to Mac’s credit, I don’t believe he’s ever said anything as ridiculous as that… if Hughes truly said that, that is
That’s what separates a Sakic or a Yzerman from your average NHL captain. A team-first mindset and building up the guys around them, in addition to their incredible individual skill-level. Most teams are like. Cool, you score a lot of goals, and slap a “C” or “A” on their jersey and call it a day
Where? When he had 1 arm out front with the other arm up in the air? 3 officials in front and no one called it? That’s why you’re commenting on YT and there’s actual refs.
