I miss this type of entertainment, which is why I watch the Lawrence Welk show on PBS. Jack Jones is a great tenor. I really enjoy his recordings, especially after he left Kapp and went to RCA. His voice deepened a bit, but he still had a great range. I miss the variety shows, especially Dean Martin and the Hollywood Palace.
Loved watching this old footage of Jack. He is just the best singer such a great range. Been a fan seen the '60's so many great memories from his concerts over the years.
The Norelco color cameras used by CBS produced awesome pictures. By comparison, NBC was still using the TK-series cameras from the 50s and early 60s. Look at a clip from the Dean Martin show from this same era. Big difference.
Seen him many a time in England. I can't get started was one of the first songs of his I ever heard when I was a small lad. I find myself smiling on watching him sing. The Guy is an all time great.
