😎👍 in addition to the evidence you present Alex , I would also include as additional inspirations movies such as Dr Cyclops ( humans being miniaturized ) , Bride of Frankenstein (miniature humans created by science) , Attack of the Puppet People , The Incredible Shrinking Man = Ant Man. The Amazing Colossal Man (AIP 1957) , The Heap ( often referred to as The Hulk in the stories) = The Hulk. For Tuk I would say possibly , the very popular comic strip Alley Oop , the time traveling caveman who had adventures in Atlantis , Ancient Rome and Greece , Egypt , etc. Low budget science fiction movies of the 50s were plentiful and a scene or two from a movie could plant a seed. Another field of inspiration could be Jack's war time experiences , talking with his buddies ; each one wishing this or that was possible , each one wishing they had the power to accomplish a particular goal while in combat , etc like in the Twilight Zone episode The Purple Testament when the soldier knows just by looking at someone who's marked for death. Conversations involved in or overheard in various places could have also contributed to Jack's ability to visualize thoughts into actions.
