"If George Benson put out a trio record every year, the world would be a much better place..."--Pat Metheny

Benson’s comping here is just incredible. So intuitive like he was still playing with McDuff every day.

true, he just steps up, plugs in, quick check and then hits it off straight away. Musicianship on highest level.

Such a deadly combination! I had the pleasure of touring with brother Jack for a number of years in the 70's. Benson came and sat in with us regularly. He always tore the place down. And how about McDuff's independence!!?? Amazing.

Many years ago Jack McDuff sat in with a band I used to play with at the time. When we took a break, all I did was ask him questions about George Benson.

Damn close to effortless, George makes even the best shake their heads in near disbelief.

Ditto Pat. Agreed agreed. Mr Benson is one of the few living legends and deserves the praise NOW. Sir Benson is one of the few artists that can dish out art at the highest level to the ordinary Joe and Josephine and not loose the listener....only a genius can do that....just like Parker did in the 50s.

Fantastic. The joy and affection between them is obvious, like long-lost cousins remembering their "chitlin" days. Top-shelf playing too!

Thanks for all the nice comments. When I shot this I was off stage with a group of very enthusiastic people. Joey DeFrancesco was there and he kept stepping into my frame. I wish I could have been closer but thank Goodness I got what I got.

Thank you. I play with a B3 player in KC named Everette DeVan. I started learning to play guitar by listing to Jack Mcduff cd's with george benson on them. I'm 27 and I never thought I would be able to visually see them play together. thank you thank you thank you

Jack McDuff discovered George Benson while performing at the Crawford Grill, #2 at 2141 Wylie Ave. Pittsburgh PA. 15219. George had his own local combo, The Alltiers, who were playing across the street at Masons. The legendary Crawford Grill was recently purchased by a group of investors that include former Steeler football star, Franco Harris with intentions of restoring it to it's original heyday lustre.

good music. It seems to me, thst program of Jack McDuff is more various then thr program of another organist - Eddy Landsberg. Jack McDuff plays jazzrock, jazz sambas and certainly blues
