As I watch this, I can't help but think it represents relationships. Everyone starts off together, very attached, full of energy, and they make it look easy. As time goes on, people drop out, either together or one just can't keep going, despite their partner holding on. Some couples drop out faster, easier than others, but in the end the couples either keep staying together, out of shear faith, while others despite not being perfect dancers, the perfect pair, actually choose to take the plunge.

Something Corporate and Jacks Mannequin were the soundtrack to my late teens all the way through to my mid 20's. I took the words more literally. The song is making a beautiful sense of a disaster where the whole world is ending. Dark blue is representing the water that has ingulfed the whole city and death is inevitable but the narrator is looking at the wonderful memories that he made with his significant other and rather than panic he looks at the brighter side of things. Nobody would ever think the water above them that there drowning in is a "perfect shade of dark blue" unless you change perspectives
This song really only has about 2.5 million views on RU-vid? Extremely surprising. Especially given all the other songs on here that have 50-100+ million views. I remember this song being a pretty big hit back when it came out. Definitely remember endless people singing it. Brings back memories. Catchy piano riff and very very good vocals.
To me, this video represents how a lot of relationships start off as: fun and exciting, but after being with that person a while, you realize that he/she is not the one. Only a few relationships are meant to last, while a lot of them break down. The hard part is whether the couple has enough strength to fight through those problems and if they do, then they'll go off in their own world together, while leaving their past hardships and pain behind.
