Okay, so this was supposed to be posted for #Stargate25 but alas, I've been covering annual leave this week and 11 hour shifts tend to disrupt my editing/rendering time.
Had rewatched the series recently and tried to use some scenes that I've never included before instead of constantly just falling back on all the exact same scenes/parallels. This was really fun to make but I needed like another 10 minutes to fully cover every element that I'd like to include.

Carter is one of the best-written female characters in television, and this relationship is one of the best written romances as well. There is not a *single* bit of toxicity or melodrama or unhealthy-ness to compel their story.

Absolutely! It's a shame that tv has veered away from this kind of long-term slow-burn romance too, you'd never see something like this on tv these days as shows simply don't have the room to breathe and let something like this grow steadily and quietly over time.

Well there were all those boyfriends and even a fiancee or two that Sam tried to use to fill the void left by her inability to follow through with her feelings, and the way that neither of the two of them were willing to actually admit their damn feelings and deal with them for literal years, but sure. Very healthy, functional relationship. To be clear, I ship them pretty hard. I think they worked well together despite the feelings they kept having to ignore. But I just wouldn't call that healthy. A healthy relationship is one that's willing to admit it exists, at least to the two people involved in said relationship.

@@ThePCguy17 I never said disfunction, because there was never function to begin with. I'm applying "healthy, non-toxic, and no melodrama" to the relationship they *actually* had, not the one they *never* had. And had they entered into the relationship you're talking about, I'm positive it would have been very functional.

"A healthy relationship is one that's willing to admit it exists, at least to the two people involved in said relationship" You seem to have missed the times the two, one-on-one, have indeed acknowledged their feelings for each other. Maybe give the show another watch! Cause you seem to have missed some important stuff. And as I explained before, I'm commenting on the relationship they *had*, not the romantic one they never pursued.

I wonder how Jack managed to be a special ops soldier and a highly skillful and experienced fighter pilot, surely you would have to be one or the other.

my understanding was that he started out as a pilot, and was fairly proficient but ended up being assigned to black ops? I could be wrong tho but that was always my reading of it!

@@HostilePoet17 I was reading an article about this the other day, in order to become a fighter pilot you have to be an officer in the airforce, they have to take a four year degree then wait for the next training opportunity, they then begin as a low level pilot, and it is a ten year commitment(the airforce want some return on their investment), i know it's a sci-fi show and you have to suspend belief, but to then become aspecial ops operator is some leap.

Divide and conquer is the clip of Sam and The Other Side is the name of the one with Jack by the gate. Both in season 4

There's a few episodes on that timestamp - the first clip is from 4x05 Divide and Conquer and it ends on 4x02 The Other Side. The voiceover is 3x18 Shades of Grey :)
