Hello there, I have subscribed to your channel because almost all the subjects and people are interesting for me. What I did not like is your comment that the bigger your channel gets the bigger the people will be. Why does it always have to be bigger? You already have 2.37M subscribers and there are no 'smaller' and 'bigger' people. This is a very arrogant thing to say. Other than that I really like what you do. Thanks for taking this into your consideration.

I watch as many Jack Whitehalls's videos that I can. I really like his brand of comedy. Don't worry about it, Jack. You'll soon be writing jokes about your wife, kid(s) and that phase of your life. I'm sure you will be able to make comedic moments about be a husband and a father.
I remember way before I’d ever heard about Jack I saw him perform at the Comedy Store. It has been an excellent line up and he was young, but I vividly remember that he made such an extraordinary impression on me and all the audience. I remembered I had to look him up instantly because he was simply so good. You can’t deny talent like that.
Great to see a slice of Jack's real personality and disposition. He seems lovely. I always assumed he was a bit spoiled and not very smart when I used to see him on TV when I was younger. He's my age and I guess I couldn't identify with him very well back then as I was working class, poor, struggling...but now we're both older, I definitely can identify with him as a person and see that he has all the same emotional struggles and insecurities as everyone else.
Also working class. Wikipedia says Jack's dad had his education paid for by an uncle who had an inheritance so up to his dad's generation they were not a wealthy family. According to Wikipedia anyhow. 🤔
We should be careful with our working class values. A lot of working class Parents (subconsciously) hang up on threads that middle class people THINK they're better than us. And we paradoxically alienate them, by virtue of feeling inferior
Actually his fathers education was paid for by his grandfather who left all his grandchildren alit of money. The Whitehall’s amusing as they are are so full of nepotism. They are all so overexposed it will all come crashing down. Also he will break up with her when the kid is about 2.
I love DOAC but wish this podcast didn’t clip and highlight every single guest getting emotional. Like it shouldn’t be the highlight clip. Yes it might happen but every DOAC episode clips their guest crying at some point in a kind of gotcha moment. It’s feels like a cheap shot
right?.. it's actually put me off watching at first cos i was a bit like "why would I watch celebs crying and being miserable for an hour?" cos I only ever used to see sad clips. I've only watched one of these before tbf but of all the reels/clips etc I've seen, I don't think they do it justice. 🥺🤷♀
I know why you would say this as I’ve felt the same, but I can understand the reasoning to entice newcomers to watch. Because I know just how good this podcast is, I now fast forward through the original highlight clips because the content is almost always right on the money for me, so I avoid the spoilers myself in that regard.
Agree that it can put you off from watching a clip of someone being upset and vulnerable. To then want to watch full episode. Sometimes seeing a clip of someone being uplifting and positive pulls you in to watch it as you know it may uplift your own mood
Jack shares a lot about his worries about gigs tanking or things not going well, but there are all the other special moments that comediens and actors don't see. A family sat in the sofa chuckling watching the tales of the travels of him and his father, colleagues at work who share which episodes of his show they have seen and laughing and sharing their funniest parts. All the films and series he's been part of. Being in the public eye, being open to so much criticism must be so hard...... But behind closed doors they are responsible for new memories, between parents and their kids on family night in front of the TV, colleagues laughing together, all those moments that people cherish. You nailed it Jack.
I love seeing this side of Jack. It’s so lovely. Having kids changes your life in so many ways. They’re challenging but wonderful changes. I can imagine Jack being a present and doting dad. Congrats.
I love Jack - he's always struck me as a sensitive soul who masked it/protects himself with his comedy and I think that's clear here. What a great interview
I'm glad Jack told us about the Harry Potter casting experience and how Emma Watson got her role. He's confident enough to admit the nepotism in the past, but anyone who has watch him on telly know he has earned his current success.
I really enjoyed this podcast. Jack Whitehall is one of my favorite comedians. It was refreshing to listen to him without the foul language! I wish him and his family the best life possible ❤
In a hope that Jack is reading this: Jack, as an immigrant in uk and a non-native english speaker when I listen to you I always laugh. Everytime I am searching for somth funny I look for your stand-ups. Your "stop milking sh*t" is my favorite. I can reply it few times and end up crying and laughing. You doing great ! I understand that you read and looking for rewievs as we all do. I hope you feel better after reading this. Hugs and best wishies from a moldovan loving british humour of yours.
Jack iis one of my favorite people on screen and as host. He always finds the funny side of a situation and I always feel better when I watch him. It’s a gift to bring joy to people’s lives and he does it in troves!
Ive got an exam in a couple of days and so I watch most things in 2x speed. I had to go back to normal speed when Jack spoke about his dad towards the end, it was so sweet and sincere.
Dear Steven. When I turned 30 I’ve realised that if Im very very lucky I just lived a third of my life, which promted me to look back and disguard wether or not I have enough to show for it. I have not and I already have tons of regret. So I promised my self that I wont waste another second and so far I feel like I lived up to it. I dont wanna waiste time on tv I dont like, meanwhile - this is point - I feel like my day can only start after a DOAC. Im addicted to your show and its the only addiction that isn’t harmfull. Love your channel lad! Ps please do a video on where to find a woman in the real world who is both empathic and authentic 😂
Love Jack, an absolutely brilliant mind and genuine person ❤ Yes to deleting social media, apart from youtube of course😂! It's been the best thing I ever did for my mental health and happiness. Enjoy the blessings of parenthood Jack ❤
*I love Jack🥺 he seems so genuinely sweet and sensitive. His relationship with his dad is the purest thing to watch🥹 Thanks for this episode Steven you’re killing it🔥🔥*
Hearing Jack describe his dad as best in small doses was hilarious to me because I've said exactly the same about Jack himself. I love him in things like panel shows where he has other personalities around him to sort of dilute his energy but I have never been able to sit through an entirety of one of his own shows. I'm excited to see some of his newer work after this interview though.
I love how your podcast shows us the 'off duty' person and this has been particularly noticable with Jimmy Carr, Russell Howard and now Jack. It makes me realize how much effort and energy goes into their professional persona. Jack is a sweetheart and I'm sure he will be an amazing Dad! Thank you Steve, for another peek behind someone's curtain and thank you Jack for being so authentic and for sharing. 😘👏♥️
Just subscribed. LOVE Jack - super fine comedian!! LOVED "Travels with my Father" never have laughed so hard - his dad is hilarious whenever he tells people to Fu*k off! I'm in the US - but as far as I am concerned the British comedians are THE BEST. Love Jack, Russell Howard and Ricky Gervais. Thanks for this behind the scenes with Jack. PS Jack has the most beautiful blue eyes!!!
I love this podcast, the questions are so deep and interesting. I hope one they they get to cast Taylor Swift. It would be fantastic to get a deeper conversation with her, she is such a genius person, it would be nice to get to listen to her speak candidly about her life and her experiences.
This was awesome, I really enjoy Jack Whitehall and to get to see a different side of him was lovely. You're such an amazing interviewer Steven, you really seem to bring out the best in people.
This was a really good podcast I love watching jack I think his entire family is so sweet and wholesome and funny and genuinely lovely. I always watch the toaster joke when I’m down about the conveyer belt toaster and I die laughing everytime it’s so good and you guys are doing good things for other people by doing talks like this. Have a wonderful day! ❤ oh and the one where his dad drank his mothers nail polish remover and thought it was listerine or something was the funniest thing.
Hi Steven. I want to say how much I enjoy your interviews. I have recently started having treatment from a chiropractor. My chiropractor also loves your interviews. You highlight facts and information that no one else seems to do. Have you ever thought of interviewing a chiropractor? My lovely chiropractor, called Matt, would be really interested in highlighting the work they do and the benefits. Love Karen x
I’m a chiropractor and I totally agree ! that idea is great, our profession is very misunderstood but is taking great leaps in the health care space. 😊
Goodness no! I get very tired of hearing from them. Certainly seem to think their work is so important and in America they get called Doctors! Pfft. Joe Dispenza ....yadda yadda. I have had treatment. It didn't help and in some cases caused more issues.
I saw Jack in Swansea as part of his settle down tour on Saturday and he really is a brilliant comic. After watching this, I hope he felt the applause and the love he received.
Having children is the best legacy you can leave. It's organic. Cutting back on work for children shouldn't even be in your thought process. Thank God or the universe whatever you believe everyday that you have been blessed, many can't have children even though they beg for it.
Jack, you’re so funny and amazing to watch. I’ve watched you grow since “Travels with my Father”. That was so good! Now you a fully actualized comedian . Be proud of yourself as I know your parents are
NOT in a million years, Could I ever imagine Jake Whiteall could move tme to tears. @01:14:00 emotions are beautiful. Having a wonderful and supportive family is the key to happiness.
Jack is my favourite comedian and I was just looking for some clips I may not of seen of him here on RU-vid! I already knew hes a great bloke but was lovely to see him really speaking the truth......without it all being a laugh! Never heard of his parents channel so I'm to try find that now lol x Great video and well done to the both of you! X
Hello to you both Professional anxiety. Love this expression, currently feeling this in Nursing. As well as Morale injury felt by staff is another issue needing addressed within our healthcare system. Thankyou for your most relatable shared discussion. Grateful indeed. 💜
Superb interview. What makes Jack successful I think is that he brings to me such joy in the delivery and he even makes himself laugh! It is pure enjoyment and you cannot help but be swept along. Going to my third gig of Jack's on Sunday - I prefer the smaller ones as you feel the infectious joy pouring from the stage. Thanks Jack and every good wish for the scary new life phase which I just know you will ace! x
I "found" Jack on the Graham Norton Show, like all of my favorite Brits, and I've seen nothing of him that I didn't adore... I am a HUGE fan!! Thanks for bringing him on - it's good to see this side of him!
Incredible interview. I love Jack, and all of his material, including watching his Mummy and Daddy on the 'Wittering Whitehalls'. They are quite the enviable family, in many ways... Anyway, I adore you, too. And have subscribed - a great believer that, if someone is good at something, then certainly support them. We all need to make a living, at the end of the day 👍
first time I've seen Steven so relaxed that he's sharing about himself, relating, perhaps bc knew he had things in common with Jack, & only a 4 yr age difference, ? altho I feel like they already know each other a bit.
I've always liked Jack Whitehall. The biggest laugh he gave me was not from a stand up performance actually but from a particular moment in Fresh Meat, I believe it was a geology field trip taking place in the episode I won't say anymore but if you know you know. Something happens to JP and the scream Jack does and the comedic timing.. Ridiculously funny. Pretty sure I snorted which I only do at the funniest of stuff. I think I have to call this my favourite channel now, I'm hooked. Jack is absolutely right you are a fantastic interviewer, Steven. Because you listen, you absorb what's been said and use it and because you probe your guests in the best way. I think a lot of people who watch these think they have to pay to subscribe btw, they must do.
Aww Congratulations Jack, you will be a wonderful Daddy! I watched the Netflix show a couple of times & often found younger Jack to be quite intolerable but those moments where you & Daddy connected were so heartwarming & I loved when you shared what a sensitive soul you really are. Even my 15 yr old daughter thinks Michael Whitehall is the GOAT. Shout out to your Mum also she is a legend! Steven was so relaxed here I think you two must be friends IRL 😊
Because of how well you seem to ask questions and at proper times to illicit very personal responses. Seeing Henry Cavill on your podcast would be amazing. I think he’s great and such a good guy but I also feel like almost every conversation he’s had is filtered so heavily to project a certain image and I’d love to hear his actual thoughts on things
Jack is in my top 5 stand up comedians ❤ +I was never a big fan of stand-up and he was my reason to explore this kind of comedy, thank you Jack! And ofc he is hot, can't lie xD
I love hearing comedian's perspective on life both in comedy and in your interviews. I hope you interview Dave Chappell (and me be in the audience 😉) and more female comedians.
On the Topic of a new interviewee or someone i'd like to see, I like Jack's sory and interesting comedy journey, why Not invite Lee Mack on the podcast to see his own?
Jack, I dont think your hairstyle looks like a Tesco Richard Hammond. I think it looks more like a mature student who's decided to take a gap year in Thailand and is still trying to be "down with the kids" 🤣🤣🤣
Absolute podcast heaven. Jack, Stephen, humour, pathos, parents, puppies, and babies… I can die happy ❤! Would so love to see Jack live, but maybe another tour. I’m having a night out already this year! See you in London next week Micky Flanagan 😊🥰🥂❤️!
I’m a third of the way through and he seems like a lovely normal human being… but Jack, you remind me of my brother who needs to train the ‘like’ and ‘you know’ out of your speech. You’re enough without them x
I find that a good cure for anxiety is to pick up the phone once a day during office hours, phone the council, and request that they let all the children boogie. Very cleansing. .
What equipment do you use for your podcasts? Microphones, cameras, lighting? Which editing software does your editor use and I read a story about how you'd stay up for hours editing your own podcasts when you were starting out. How developmental was that period and what are the benefits and drawbacks of having a full time editor now?
wOw! What a wonderful interview, what a wonderful man he has turned into. All the best, love and success to Jack, Roxy and the rest of his family ❣ And thanks to @TheDiaryOfaCEO for facilitating 👏👏💞
