I agree with you, Weems, Amal carbs only on these old triumphs. I don't believe in using NKG spark plugs either....only Champion. I recently helped a friend put a new monobloc on his 1957 TR6. It ran like a dream with that new carb. I put a new concentric premier on my 64 TR6, because it had a concentric when I bought it but it was starting to get finicky. I'm tempted to go back to a monobloc at some point just to see what the stock carb would be like on the bike. The concentric works great, but it would have come with a monobloc.

i have to say your teaching method is always the best way over the sholder approach is always better than just telling people as they Always go away and forget. Not to mension it gives the person doing it bragging rights knowing they did it there selves. so they do remeber and if stuck they can repair again. its how i taught my miss's with her first bike

My friend let me pull apart the clutch basket on a Norton Atlas, and clean and sand all the plates before reassembly. Because it wasn't my bike, he double-triple inspected my work before we buttoned it all up again, but he said I did a fine job of it. Good learning experience. There will come a time when I have to do this to my own 66 Triumph.

I saw this bike on the trailer at Publix a couple weeks ago!! a Jeep was pulling it.

Excellent work! Always good to have a buddy that knows what's what on your bike. I'm sure Jack is happy to have a neighbor and friend like you Weems. Jack does have a sweet bike and I'm glad it is running like it never has ridden since he has owned it. Always good to see those old bikes running down the road. The only old bikes around where I live are old Harley iron heads and you don't see many of them. Great video Weems! Keep riding, wrenching and stay safe!

I've never had a problem with the mikkies on my pre unit, or the wassel evos on my t140. My parts guy has stopped stocking amals because of engineering faults and returns, he's had some back that didn't even have the jet passageways drilled out, he bought them straight from the factory.... that tr6 sounded crisp though

I got a pair of Mics for cheap money. Guy wanted all original. Now youre telling me no? AAURGH!!! Engine is a 78.5 T140 in 65 frame,hardtail. I got a 77 head to clear the seat post. This will likely be my keep till i die bike,suggestions?

I had a buddy with a 650 BSA.. I had a 750cc Norton Commando.. it could pull away from the BSA in any gear.

Orange RTV- is that a silicon sealant? Where there should only be a gasket?
