Henry Winkler maybe one of the nicest people and absolutely nothing like his character was unhappy days. It’s funny that he was even cast in that role that’s some stuff that happened back then that would never happen in today’s day and age but I just love him so much and I’m so grateful to see that he’s doing so well. In California, when I was in high school in the early 1970's, we had business-oriented classes which taught us from typing, selling, business management and even writing checks and bookkeeping. We had classes which were college prep and classes that gave us the opportunity go from high school into all kinds of jobs.

So WONDERFUL how openly (and often) Henry Winkler speaks of his dyslexia when he speaks about himself - unknowingly raising awareness. And even seen here, love you Howie, but in joking about it you missed the pain Henry was trying to convey of growing up beyond, deeper than miserable in school and in understanding why it feels like there is something wrong with yourself, and your parents don’t sympathize with that. Could you have “honored” what he was trying to share with you….he told you how much he admires you. You had the option in that moment of the interview to make a joke about him harboring resentment OR to instead validate his experience. I wish I’d sensed validation from you or your daughter. Could your daughter have given her perspective on what a child needs from a parent?! I am disappointed because these podcasts should be a balance of comedy but with sincere connection with a person’s true story. I have a son with dyslexia…and Henry Winkler’s life story is a touching one. His amazingness shines even brighter if you take him serious for one minute about where he could have ended with an education system that made him feel broken and parents who didn’t see that. It deserves mentioning the incredible books he’s written that help dyslexics find themselves in his Zipser character! You seemed bothered by him saying he needed more from his parents. I am now curious how well you related to your own parents with your mental health challenges.

Welp, I finally got the answer to a question I've had for... a decade, at least. On Californication, there's a scene where they're shooting a porno in Runkle's house, and Charlie's mistress, the star of the porno, had decided the night before her big, climactic scene to shave her lady area. The director was livid, saying his film is period piece and women didn't shave during the time period in which the film was based... and he then asked for a "merkin," but I couldn't understand the word he was saying... until today. I have wondered, every time I watched that episode, what the in the holy dog snot he was saying and asking for, and now I know... a merkin.

Some of my fondest memories as a kid were watching Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley with my mom every week, eating fresh made popcorn. Always loved Henry, followed his whole career.

The world would be a better place if there were more people like Henry winkler God bless him.
