Jackie literally started from 0. From poverty, he built his own career, working as hard as he could, working any job he could. When I see him now being one of the richest self-made people in China, I think to myself, "Now that man deserves it."
For me there are 6 legends of Asian martial artists movies: Bruce Lee- He brought to America the culture of Chinese martial art. Very serious in his acting and a proficient fighter. He opens the eyes of the world to how amazing martial art is. Jackie Chan - He brought something new to martial art movies. He brought a unique sense of comedy and has the most incredible stunts in any videography history. I will always appreciate how funny and serious he got in Drunken Master 1 & 2. Jet Li - He had something very mythical in his acting. He has this amazing silent look in Danny the Dog. The profile of a pro martial artist almost looks like a monk. Having portrayed some of the most iconic martial artists such as Huo Yuanjia in Fearless. Donnie Yen - While many thought the idea of 'Americanizing' every Chinese movie was the only way back in the golden age to broaden the audience. With the mindset of people changing with age, Donnie gave us a vision of how Chinese movies can truly be appreciated internationally in Ip Man. Tonnie Jaa - Chinese movies became popular, but was it the most brutal? Tonnie Jaa brought to the screen how incredibly brutal and exciting Muay Thai is. He brought something fresh to martial art movies as well as being an amazing stuntman. Michael Jai White - This guy is a multiple black belt 3rd Degree Karate Jiu Jitsu. So he is not just acting. Movies such as Never back down shows underground fight, even so, he remains true to his Karate style high posture kicks and punches and lethal submission moves.
Jackie has a humble nature that stands out in nearly all his movies. I’ve watched most of his amazing movies and never get bored of his humour and incredible marshal arts. Love the man. I just wish you could keep making movies but I understand that age and aches and pains catch up. ❤👍🏻🇦🇺😁
I love Jackie Chan, the Rush Hour movies crack me up. The combination of insane fight scenes, and crazy humor 😜 just can't be equaled. It surprises me though that he is still alive, the blooper scenes shows him falling off a tower, the landings look like he could have broken his neck.
IMHO, the pairing of Jackie Chan with Chris Tucker was golden. They're such different personalities but both very adept at comedy from their respective angles. But it was the synergy that produced great entertainment.
Also encouraged his acting partners to do their own stunts and showed them how. It's great he just doesn't show up for a pay check or credit. Humble man with amazing talent. I learned about him when I was young (born in 1971) before Rush Hour and all his more main stream films. Always loved his action scenes/stunts. I also like his comedic work better than his serious stuff. Funny seeing a guy you know can do the trick perfect, but purposely feints an error and makes faces and body motions of pain. He is a legend to me.
I love this statement but it isn't entirely true. There was one stunt (i don't know which movie it was from) where the Rollerman did one or 2 of his stunts. But Jackie did the rest. Not throwing shade. But yeah 99.9% of Chan's stunts were performed by himself
my dad loved these type of movies , we were poor but somehow had many caset tapes to watch since we had no cable. I would run around mimicking the moves and noise mis movie and he would be there supporting the antics 😂 will always be a memory I’ll never forget and hopefully make it a tradition with my own kids
I did martial arts for about 8 yrs and every martial artist I trained with idolised him. He is a great man a humble man and such a good person. Love him ❤️
He's the most amazing person to do what he does in films. Plus he has a lot of guts to do his own stints. I will love his work always. Just keep going on what you do best.
Love this man & all his movies! I had no idea he spoke so many languages, sang & owned his own theatre production, etc..etc.. etc.. A truly very talented man & yet so humble ❤️
When he took that jump and crashed against that heli leaving him unconscious, that was probably the closest to death he's ever been. No insurance company wanted to insure him 😅 Haven't spoken to him in a while, but I have fond memories of him.
Ask world champion kickboxer, Benny the Jet, how legit a fighter Jackie is...He will enthusiastically tell you that he is most definitely NOT someone you'd want to mess with.
I want him to act as an grandpa of chinese family living in US... I want to see a vulnerable side of him in acting, something heartfelt, warm, kinda slice of life movie... He is a great actor, but I want to see him in a "mainstream" kinda story.
Jackie Chan's stunts and performances are from another world. He is next-next-next level. He always shows what the human body and brain can do, if they are trained well. Jackie has broken about 300 bones in his body, some several times. Don't try this at home! But it' s extremely amazing, how got back everytime. He really wants to do everything to for his movies and not disappoint the fans. People like Jackie Chan, because he isreal, authentic and very funny. Plus: He can do lot's of things in talk shows. Stunts, fighting, singing... Jackie Chan is enormously entertaining.
im sad he didnt mention The Prisoner, that film was amazing, emotional, and because jackie chan seemed more like a secondary character, anytime he showed up, just felt sooo much more impactful, he wasnt over powered and actually got bloodied and killed in the film, such an underrated movie
my favorite is Drunken Master, Rush Hour with Chris Rock, Karate Kid with Jadyn Smith, and other movies he played detective with a golden Child can't remember name of movie, oh I forgot he played Chinese guard with Cowboy Roy (,actor name), so many great actor ❤❤❤❤❤ usa
The 7 little fortunes are Corey yuen, yuen wah, the landlady from kung-fu hustle, yuen Biao, Sammo Hung I think, Jackie Chan. I don't remember the 7th one
The first movies i saw...is the drunking Master i love so much.that movie...untill now i love Jacky Chan...Amezing Amezing Actor and Man.👋👋👋👋👋❤❤❤🌹🌹🌹🙏🙏🙏
Jackie Chan first came on to my radar when Rumble in the Bronx came out. I've been a huge fan ever since. The movie was pretty corny with pretty lack luster acting. But Jackie's style of martial arts was so unique and cool, that I still loved the movie.
I am beyond amazed at his accomplishments. And I am very curious as to whether my eyes & memory are tricking me or not, his stunts loo familiar to those of Tom Cruise. And since his movies where before Tom Cruise, does it mean, Tom has been copying & never given credit, or even spoken to be inspired by Jackie? Wow!...Really would love someone else take on this, because I see a lot of similarities

Very informative. There will never be another Jackie Chan. He is a legend. Also the stars now are too violent. Chan knocks out the bad guys. New stars kill the bad guys. Big difference. Not family friendly like Chan.
My idol and the best actor.Although my Chinese friends hates him for some propaganda bs and his personal life..but I love his acting, Determination and discipline .
My favorite Jackie chan movie was my first , Operation Condor. After that I watched every VCR film I could get from the library, unfortunate for me a bugler stole the VCR , a stupid thief too , cut the cord , left the cord Plugged in the socket. Took my pursue with my death in it also , tmi but I got my mom and brother into watching Jackie chan movies.
Thankfully do to all the movies and characters that are based on him in other anime’s. At least his legend will never die. So I’m a way he is the second Bruce lee.
You need to stop with the critics reviews and just give the audience reviews. The audience dictates what is good, not the critics. If we went by critics to movies that are good, we wouldn't have any good movies.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky. " Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?"
The seven lucky ones also had a world famous martial artist and actor, who was known, world wide, before anyone ever heard of Jackie and he was standing next to Jackie in the adult picture of the lucky seven and that man's name is Sammo Hung aka Sammo Kam-Bo Hung. I suppose he was known before Jackie because he is older than Jackie ? Sammo and Jackie were both in Enter the Dragon with Bruce Lee. Both were non credited rolls so you won't see there names in the credits. Sammo's part was that of a mix marshal artist that Bruce Lee spares with, one on one. at the start of the movie and Jackie's roll was one of many thugs Bruce Lee beats up when freeing the enslaved workers in the underground facility. Do not get me wrong ! I love Jackie and most if not all his movies but I love the truth above all else and the truth is that Sammo, who was/is part of the lucky seven became a world know star before Jackie did. I am 56 and had an uncle that used to take me to see all the marshal artist movies, which were billed as Kung Fu movies, every Saturday and because of the restricted code being different than it is today, I got to see my first boob. A restricted movie or what today is known as rated "R" and is restricted to people 18 years old and over, was Restricted to persons 18 and over but if you were under 18, you could go as long as accompanied by an adult, which I was and I got to watch, in a theater, on a big screen. Enter the Dragon and got to see all the action but also, all the boobs.....lol Fond memories of being 8 and 10 and 12 + years old going to the theater every Saturday untill they closed the theater as by then they had started building megaplex theaters and the Rialto, which was the theater we went to was already old and passed it's prime when we went, hence why it showed Kung Fu movies on Saturday afternoons. They would have a regular Hollywood movie or the latest block buster which they would show in the evenings and again at night but people went to newer theaters to see the same movies because the other theaters were newer and had better concessions and had a little arcade, which the Rialto did not have. Again, love Jackie and all his movies but Sammo Hung was know world wide before Jackie was, at least to me and my uncle and everyone I knew who liked Kung Fu movies . Sammo Hung and the henchman's enforcer in Enter the Dragon Bolo Yeung. Two names I heard a lot, long before I heard of Jackie and that was in The Big Brawl
my father was the one that got me hook on Jackie chan movies with Rumble in the Bronx at the time my father was big on films like the 007 any thing with Arnold or Bruce Willis and Stallone so one day we when at one of this small vhs store and he seen rumble on top and got all excited said he thought he seen this movie but could not remember the name of it or who was in it but was so impressed how the actor in the movie brock his leg and still finished filming the movie and was know for breaking something in all his movies and still finished them that once he saw that video and finaly got the actor's name he would not forget it again and from that point on first strike operation condor drunken master super cop who am I where in his top faves with movies like Conan Cobra die hard any thing bond and jackie chan where his reply for what kinda movie you want me to rent lol
Why wasn't ther a mention of one of the greatest Kung fu films of all time. Wher was drunken master 2, with some of the greatest fighting scenes ever made.
I love Jackie Chan! Thanks for the video, but there are a lot of mistakes here.. Some of them are the facts you state as truth, but most of them are in the editing and production.
Wow, such a nice biography! I'm sorry I somehow missed the part where you mention how he disowned his daughter for being a lesbian, then made a fake video with a fake daughter to act like a lovingly father. It's just a minor thing that his real daughter and her wife are homeless while her multi-million dollar father couldn't care less about her, right? Isn't it funny how all of this didn't make it into this video? I think you can guess which way my thumb went, don't you?
Very intelligent bloke from young age to now in making heaps of money in movies than expand his wealth in other aspect such as cinemas etc.... in his brand name in making more 🤑🧠👌 My favorite movies was him with mostly with Sumo Hung and others fighting with Benny the Jet Urquidez 💪
