Gonna have to disagree with the other comment. This one is not good; the version here is the HK cut where Jackie went back and re-shot some of the fight. That's probably the one to watch but don't expect Project A.
@@Paul07791 Well I wasn't saying the movie was incredible, I was saying it's incredible that Jackie got to work with so many top American fighters in movies
@@jacobingram8152Hooray for RU-vid. 20 years ago I’d have had to waste £20 on a Hong Kong Legends DVD and scrub through the whole movie if I wanted to see this, only to be let down by how poor the quality of the fight scene is compared to so many others of Jackie’s. This is Battle Creek Brawl levels of clunkiness and awkwardness
I literally love martial arts movies from the 80s and 90s. It gives me great pleasure to know that the great Bill Wallace participated in one, with Jackie Chan no less.
Agreed...I followed Bill Wallace ever since I was a teen. Long time ago now lol. He was the original super foot for sure. Early in his Athletic career he had a injury to his right knee. You don't see him use it much mostly a left leg kicker . Always entertaining to watch even with the terrible sound effects by today's standards lol. Ty for sharing
In the Hong Kong action films of the 1980s and 1990s, the stand-in actors exchanged their lives for wonderful scenes. Every stand-in actor in JC TEAM HONG TEAM had a moment of dying.
I remember he commentated at the first ever UFC event and he messed up the title 5 seconds in, “Hi everyone and welcome to the ultimate fighting challenge” 😂. It was him, some foxy boxing chick Kathy Long, and James Brown (retired American football player) for some reason. The three of them were clueless about what they were seeing, and freaked out in the first 30 seconds when a sumo wrestler got kicked in the head
I love the comedy even in this, Bill gets a knuckleduster & Jackie grabs a tin can, a hard hat & a couple of clay pots to use as weapons when there are paint cans, hammers, wrenches & even a circular saw right there! 🤣
That would be great. I think the problem is just that these long fights take weeks, sometimes months to shoot. The intricacies of these fights make them so rewatchable.
There is a 1975 Charles Bronson movie called Hard Times, set in 1933. Bare Knuckled fighting. The in last fight scene of the movie, Charles Bronson is fighting a ringer brought in from Chicago. After a long fight, Bronson is winning. The other guy is on the floor and his manager tosses a couple of metals bars, roll of quarter size, on the floor next to him. Just like the guy in the suit does with the with the knuckle duster. Only in Hard Times the fighter on the floor shows more honor and knocks the bars away. Now I have to go watch Hard Times again. Great movie.
@@therespectedlex9794 Of course I know Bill Wallace who fought Jacky Chan in this scene. I was talking about the older man, the big bad boss in this scene.
Believe it or not, just today the goat Bill Wallace came to my dojo today and trained all of the students in the school along with me. His exercises were pretty overwhelming for me I have to admit, and so was it for many of the other students. He also brought a few other sensei’s along to help, although it was hard it was also a blast.
I saw this movie when it first came out. Wow, it was like almost 37 years ago. Frankly, I only watched this movie because of Bill Wallace. Just like Chuck Norris' A Force of One. Bill Wallace stole the show with awesome badass fight scenes in both movies. Similarly, Benny the Jet in Meals on Wheels and Force Five.
When a fight scene starts at a calm and wide angle like this, enabling these health bar jokes in the first place by resembling a beat'em up game, you can immediately guess that the actors are not just actors.
Funny thing is you can see that Bill is slowing his technique down for the fight choreography. I attended a kicking seminar with him. That guy is beyond fast!!!
i enjoyed watching Karate Grandmaster & world kickboxing middleweight champ Bill superfoot Wallace back in the day. His kicks super fast & powerful. He retired from kickboxing undefeated with 23-0.
Typical Chan : he looks first overwhelmed, but puts his chin up, adapts and saves the day. Love that guy ! (Who now has proved that he can be a very good actor too !)
He made the 'hero' felt so realistic since he actually took damage and strive through the fight to win instead of being just overpowered protagonist that you just know no one will ever defeat the protagonist. Not many modern action movie ever try to do what Jackie had done, even much earlier than the Hollywood
@@iamleoooo Exactly. Chan's character is not the invisible hero. He's always an average Joe, sometimes not even the smartest one, but if he wins, it's because if he might fall two or three times, he always gets up and plows on !
correct, but before he did that, for the hong kong release of this movie he shot more action scenes and redid this end fight to play more towards his timing and complexity in the choreography.
@@pateris I think you can find all Jackie's extra clips uploaded on here, but yeah they really should get a hold of both versions and release them together as one package.
Bill suffered an injury to his right knee in judo. He rarely used it. But went on to capture a championship in full contact karate. Retired undefeated. Left leg clocked at 60mpr.
@@TyroVogel there is no such thing as a beat martial art. A lousy jeet kune do figgter will still lose from even a CHESS player if the chess player is a better fighter.. Its all about being the better martial artist, not the branch of the art that you joined.
I never knew Bill Wallace was in films, let alone in a fight scene with Jackie Chan! I only knew him first as a commentator at the first UFC tournament, then only MUCH later on I learned he was actually a legit martial artist. Respect.
I love the health bar concept , this should be a feature in all fight scenes, press a button and turn on their health bars ! Gives the viewer more of a sense of what the characters truly got left , another form of suspense .
3:48 One Of My Favorite Movies 🎬 🎞 🎥 🎦 That Movie First Time I Saw It I Was Only 5 Years And I Really Enjoyed It A Lot , I Greet All The film Crew 🎥 For Playing That Movie , I Greet All The Audiences And All The Comments Readers From Egypt, Have A Wonderful And Beautiful Day .
He went on to capture a championship. Just slightly understated my man. Met him several times and never knew he had a injury from judo in fact I didn't know if he played judo.
When I first saw this movie it was edited very short after watching it in its entirety I felt robbed the American version was chopped down I wished I had seen this version in the theater
This footage belongs to Chinese version of movie ,Jackie changed scenes after disappointment in US footage, he added new scenes and some shots were deleted.for example last hit with wheel and chainsaw massacre shots
Freakin' Superfoot was awesome. His hair wasn't so groovy, but just LOOK at how well he did with the choreography in this scene! 💪😎✌️ Almost as incredible as Benny the Jet.
I'm surprised he could hit Jack with such slow punches and kicks. Because we all know how Jack is super fast, just look when he fight Benny, those fights are superb
well from what i know, Jackie choreographed with Benny the most realistic fight scenes together. this one looked more like the typical rhythm whereas the one Jackie did with Benny had really fast real time flow.
@@rojayreid908 Indeed! There have been interviews where they spoke explicitly about changing the tempo of the fights because the Jet felt like it was too slow, where in real fighting the attacks come quicker and sometimes in broken rhythm

Bill Wallace! One of the most straight-up cool-minded tell-it-like-it-is silly people in martial arts and he's the bad guy against Jackie Chan?! I love it! 8D
I saw Bill Wallace at an exhibition where he hobbled up to the mat like a rodeo-rider, kicked off the headgear of his opponent w/his left-foot, & then dispatched him w/a flurry of head-kicks that were faster than most people's punches. Then hobbled away like it wasn't some kind of miracle.
It’s sad to see him as a bad guy. It reminds me of when Chuck Norris fought Bruce Lee in return of the Dragon. I’ve always been a fan of Bill (Super Foot) Wallace. Too bad we didn’t see more of his fast kicks from MR. Wallace.
There are lots of them, just let the algorithm do it's magic! I stumbled upon such a video lately and now I am suggested at least one of them each day.
Met Bill last year and he helped me with my kicking in kickboxing really down to earth nice and funny man got a photo at end doing a face off with him lol a living legend
