Jackie was incredible as a 10-year-old, with such a beautiful, mature, operatic voice, but anyone who listened to her knew, and she's proven to all, that she can sing any song, any style of music. She's really a gem among what is often mediocrity. She is blessed with an enchanting voice and deserves great success.
@@peetahbread7921 Jackie could sing better then them when she still a fetus, she’s been singing with legends like Sarah brightman and Andre bocelli since she was a child, she broke records that no one has come close to since, your comment is just ridiculous, troll
@@peetahbread7921 Jesse McCartney, Turtle, commented in his TMS interview that Kitty "has the most refined voice on the show". I'm certain he knows more about singing than you do. She didn't even sing with the voice she is famous for so the judges wouldn't recognize her. Quoting the media: "Jackie Evancho has blossomed into one of the greatest vocal talents in the world today."
It took me two years to finally re-watch this. She was my Dad's favorite singer since he saw her on America's Got Talent. ❤Jackie you deserved to win this love! Im glad more people got to experience your beautiful voice with this show.
@@user-qk1cw9vs7e She has been battling anorexia since age 15 which led to a serious relapse in late 2020. A car wreck that broke her back in Nov revealed that lack of nutrition had caused osteoporosis.
She's young an it wouldnt hurt to have voice coach for her profession to work both sides opera an secular. Even Micheal Jackson had one through out carrer as Aaron Carter pointed out they had the same one an that was interview year before he past away.
Knew her voice from the first week! Getting to see her do so many different things with her voice is amazing!! So glad to see her keep developing and exploring new music as she gets older!
There is one thing for sure Jackie has re-ignited her singing career. I wish she could find an unbelievable songwriter so that she could sing original songs.
She has been writing and composing her own songs, produced in collaboration with Greg Camp, founder of and lead guitarist for the rock band, Smash Mouth. An EP of 5 original songs will be released in March.
@@robertgoldbach5445 The title of the album has not be revealed yet. "Behind My Eyes" is a single she released on RU-vid, along with another single, "Consequences".
I loved her from her first performance, but man, how wonderfully has she and her voice matured. At some stage I thought she should stay with opera, but I was so wrong.
Jackie quit opera at age 11, singing only the 3 arias she recorded at age 10. She has released 8 hit albums since then, all classical crossover. You can imagine why she had been trying to dispel the idea that she is an "opera singer" the last 8 years.
@@cl9786 Yeah, that makes sense, but she was a kid sensation at opera and I really miss that, but even so she's awesome at whatever she sings. I loved her version of Pie Jesu.
@@vaskylark She enjoyed the challenge of a few arias, but a pursuit of opera would have limited her potential as a uniquely versatile vocalist, that having been her ambition from the beginning. Amazing, isn't it? That is the point of her competing on the show, demonstrating her incredible versatility. She completely fooled the judges performing outside the genre she is known for.
Since the childhood debut an ineffable voice, blooming and now blossoming to be the talented woman in your dream come true inspiring entertaining all that hear and see you, a journey indeed that was meant for you... Beautiful woman
It's a sham. She should have won. Any contest Jackie enters it should be an automatic win for her. She is that great. She has one of the top 3 greatest voices ever to exsist on the face of this earth. She proved she is great and fantastic and can sing anything and make it her own.
What a wonderful video. I have loved Jackie's singing since she was a little girl. Now we get a free concert showing off her range and versatility in such a fun setting. I wonder what Nick Cannon was thinking as he was the stage presenter at the America's Got Talent when Jackie first burst into our consciousness.
This Young lady ventured out of her comfort zone several times and performed spectacularly? Whereas The others stayed on theirs. Her not winning The. Competition is mind blowing. Makes a Person doubt The veracity of that process.
Is the process legitimate, that's The $64,000 question (do you get the internal joke?) Okay, I'll explain it--The $64,000 Question on CBS was the first and most successful early big money TV game show, in the 1950s, but it got caught up in the game shows scandals of the 1950s, in which other game shows such as Twenty-One on NBC, and Dotto, also on CBS, and a spinoff of the $64,000 Question, The $64,000 Dollars Challenge, were investigated and then canceled because of rigging the results, which resulted in a federal law against fixing television game shows.
@@caryreynolds1176 This is an entertainment show, not a singing contest. There's no incentive for any contestant to participate but exposure and the potential to take home a plastic trophy as the winner. And, it is not a live show, but pre-recorded with no public vote. No celebrity has anything to lose by not advancing but continued exposure. It was known that Jackie had concerts scheduled the week of the finale and therefore could not have continued beyond the quarter finals. But, she had achieved her purpose which was to dispel the "little girl opera singer" image that has been attached to her and to demonstrate her versatility as a vocalist and entertainer. She said she considered herself "a winner" for having accomplished her goal. By all accounts at end of the season, she WAS the winner in the respect that she had ultimately become the most popular contestant with the TV/RU-vid audience. Her performances received far more views than the winner with 98% thumbs up. Dangerous Woman alone had 1.4M views when it was mysteriously removed by TMS the day before the finale was aired, twice that of any other contestant.
@@cl9786 Wikipedia describes show as a reality singing competition. There is a public vote of sorts, supposedly the audience in attendance. But they only get 50% of the vote total, so any one or combination of judges voting a certain way could override the audience vote, assuming they are legally bound by their own rules and the audience vote is accurately counted. I'm not sure I buy the theory that Jackie was preordained to leave because of pre-existing concert dates. I if there was any manipulation I believe it was because they wanted someone with more current public exposure to win.
@@caryreynolds1176 I understand that is the premise of the show, but how realistic is a singing competition in which a professional singer, such as Jackie, loses to an athlete, a TV personality, a comedian or politician, etc.? Singing is only the medium of presentation enhanced by choreography/dancing for entertainment value. Frog was admittedly not a "vocalist"/singer but a rapping dancer and apparently more "entertaining" to the audience than Kitty. You're right about the audience and the judges' prerogative to override the vote....Thus they could determine that a celebrity with the least number of votes would advance to the next episode. For example, Kitty may have had a better performance vocally than Rhino (an athlete with greater notoriety), but he advanced to leave Kitty unmasked. The show is about viewership and ratings with a TV audience of 7M. A relative unknown such as Jackie would have been a disappointment to a TV audience anxious to see a well-known celebrity unmasked as a finalist/winner. Therefore, I believe she was appropriately eliminated to accommodate her concert schedule and to satisfy the TV audience as well. However, I think the producers underestimated Jackie's talent/showmanship skills and how popular she would become. I suspect that's why her Dangerous Woman video was removed.
@@caryreynolds1176 Non of the variety shows actually go by audience vote. Marketing professionals and their computer models decide the winners before anyone ever steps on stage. That's why often stand out performances finish surprisingly low, no computer can account performance day stand outs. Neither Turtle nor Kitty should ever have lost to Night Angel, Rhino nor the stunningly untalented Frog.
I keep coming back to this time after time. What versatility! Sassy, heart wrenching, heart breaker with a marvelous voice [or voices?] A real entertainer. Keep it up, kid, don't let it grind you down, you're doing great in a REALLY tough racket.
Like you, I view these performances repeatedly. She is the most fascinating classical crossover artist I've ever witnessed. What strikes me most here is that she is having the time of her life, experimenting with her voice and moving on stage as never seen before, "letting her freak flag fly". Her potential seems boundless. I hope she retains the adventurous spirit and courage that has brought her to this point in her career. Btw, the new album should be coming out very soon, before her national tour resumes March 4th in Palm Desert, CA.
@@cl9786 Well, as I've said several other times before, she's the first singer in my 70+ years that I've ever followed, since singers were seldom as good as the melody, the beat, the arrangement or the lyrics [except an occasional, seldom to be repeated hit]. However, I think Melody Place should be talking up this coming release for a month or so prior to release. I've always been surprised by whatever new direction she takes.
@@jordannash1998 I haven't expected the album to be released until the third week of February, just prior to the first concert of the tour. Jackie's producer, announced back in Oct. 2020 when she was signed to the label, that the new venture is a "concept album". Jackie said some time ago that she'd like to make a "Great Women Songwriters" album. Therefore, I've suspected that her siingle, "River" by Joni Mitchell, is an indication of that possibility this time around. That will bring some interesting surprises, if it is in deed the case. Just a guess.
@@jordannash1998 Yeah, I enjoy that about Jackie. She's always experimenting with her capabilities and challlenging herself, not wanting to be limited in any way or predictable. I've never been disappointed by her surprises, now looking forward to the next one.
Donny & LeAnn are both excellent singers, but Jackie can sing such a wide range of genres with absolute perfection (Classical, modern Pop, old Pop, Opera arias, Country ballads, Country dub-step, Folk, Broadway musicals, Dramatic movie theme songs, Jazz, Soul, Rock n Roll) that there isn't another singer who has ever lived that can touch her.
@@susanstorm7910 Her second song, "Mercy", convinced me because it immediately reminded me of her recording of "I'm Not That Girl" on her album, The Debut. From then on there was no doubt in my mind. No reason to be "pissed" that she didn't win. She achieved her goal of wanting to dispel the image of her as the little girl who sings opera and demonstrating her versatility as an adult artist......She considered herself "a winner" for having achieved that. Furthermore, by all accounts, she was the most popular performer of the season with the TV and RU-vid audience, with more views and likes than either of the top 3, though she lost the studio audience vote.
@@cl9786 that’s cool! You’re a big fan of hers and I’m newer, buuuut you’re right. She did break the “ little girl “ image and we must applaud 👏🏾 her for that. The studio audience pissed me off, omg 😳
@@susanstorm7910 You might consider that Jackie is not a well-known celebrity in the mainstream, competing on a nationally televised show that is expected to wow it's TV audience with big name celebrities in the top 3......Note that the studio audience voted her off for 4th place in favor of a star baseball player (Rhino) who obviously cannot compete with vocalists like Jackie. And Frog (3rd place) was not a singer either, but a rapper with a huge following. It's not a singing context, but about entertainment. The producers underestimated Kitty's appeal and had her eliminated at a time when she had attained greater popularity than they expected.
When she was unmasked, I was shocked. It was so different from her previous performances as a child prodigy. She seriously stretched her repertoire. I think her time on the show was a major growth experience.
Some long time fans hinted that she might be on this show. I've followed her for over a decade so I decided to check it out. When 'Kitty' came strutting out singing ' Dangerous Woman' some mannerisms looked like it could be her, but her singing didn't seem 100% like her voice. After her next song 'Mercy' I was 99% certain because the voice was almost identical to the song 'She Used to Be Mine' from her 'The Debut ' album. After the Robert Redford movie clue I knew it was her. People I've promoted her music to tuned in and all said "no way that's her". They were all shocked when she was revealed.
This was Jackie being able to heal and become herself and let go of the child she was. It was her turn to get to grow up. Fans are annoying as hell when they won't let child stars grow up and be different. You arent' the same person you were at 10 years old. Why do we expect that out of young stars? The whole reason Mylie Cyrus did what she did was because she knew fans would always think she was Hannah Montana unless she had a clear and clean break. Sure, it was extreme, but that's the only way she thought she could. For Jackie, it took the Mask Singer to be able to show to world she's more than just that little girl.
Jackie please make more music like this. Your rendition of Unstoppable was simply perfection. Your voice is so beautiful as are you. Be well and hope to see and hear more from you soon.
Jackie is now writing, composing and producing her own music as an indie pop artist, while continuing to perform her classical repertoire in concert. Her new EP "Solla" was released May 3, 2024, consisting of 6 original songs about her personal experiences, lyrics more on ""the dark side" but at the same time the music is lively and danceable. It marks the beginning or her "musical transformation era" at age 24.
I've long admired and loved her voice, but was thinking just the other day, that she wasn't much of a showman (thinking of Taylor)... I was wrong! Very well done!
Jackie's concert stage presence as a classical crossover artist had always been one of class and sophistication, wearing gorgeous full-length gowns. And her demeanor is still one of gracefulness and poise, even a little shy.....but confident and personable.
GOOD NEWS! Jackie starts touring in Florida, 23 March in Clearwater, the 25th at the Villages, and the 22nd in Ft Lauderdale. Looks as if she'll release a new album before the tour.
Starting to tour in Florida, doesn't sound such good news to me, maybe she should skip that particular place for now until the covid numbers are at a bit more reasonable level there
@@Songfugel No more risk in Florida as any other location. In fact if inoculated (vacinated) the risk is now near zero. Careful not to swallow the propoganda of the American political criminal class (Biden) and their Media poodles. In fact all 3 shows are near sell outs. Jackie would not take unnecessary chances.
@@Songfugel You may have your opinion, mine is based on a politival science degree from and Ivy league school, a Biological Warefare degree from Command and Generel Staff Collage 10 years working in political sewer called DC and a life time of study and experiance. @@rehoboth2721 They aren't. Maybe actually learn a bit about what vaccines actually are, how they work, and depending on your medical situation the protection your immune system provides is not complete. Anyone with permanently or temporarily lowered immune system is at risk, no matter the shots they have taken. In addition to this, the covid-vaccines effect isn't as long lasting as for some other shots, already many countries are quick-rolling out 3rd booster shots for seriously immuno-compromised people. You arguments are absolute drivel for the most part filled with delusions and conspiracy theories. My friend's dad died of covid 3 weeks ago, and he had had both shots, but since his health was already compromised due to other serious diseases and medications, his immune system just couldn't fight off the delta variant. You think only 21 year olds with perfect health will go see her shows? No, I bet a majority of her fans are retired classical music lovers. So don't give me this shit about your shitty useless degrees that are worth less than toilet paper.
I think this event may have been the most gratifying of her career as a teenager. Now, it's having had her original music written, composed and co-produced by her played on the radio nation-wide......"Writing and releasing my own music is something I've wanted to do for as long as I can remember", she says. An EP album of original songs will be released this March.
She is thee earth angel that has exploded what a magical gift thank you where do I buy her music I want that angels voice thank you for sharing your gift with the world
Her new single is not intended to showcase her vocal prowess. Rather. the song is deeply personal and honest about her struggle with mental illness. She wrote and composed it in a style that suits the theme which happens to be Alternative pop, reminiscent of the 80s, which is music she listened to a lot as a child with her dad. She continues to perform her classical crossover repertoire in concert with her classical voice. Exceptionally versatile, she offers something for everyone from opera/classical to jazz, to Broadway to pop.
Of all the contestants on The Mask Singer, Jackie Evancho was the easiest one to figure out if you followed her ten year career. No one in the industry can sing well enough to perform as she did on The Mask Singer. The producers should have permitted her to perform a song using the voice she has become famous for singing that would have awoken the sleepy time judges. I hope she is doing well today 7-10-21. Today 11-14 - 21, Jackie Evancho has returned to social media. She explained what happened to her during the past year BUT there was a lot of omissions in the response and much more needs to be found out and explained.
I think Jackie purposely wanted to sing every possible genre she could, brilliantly, other than the one she is most famous for, classical. First, so the judges would not guess he identity. And second, so she could demonstrate her versatility of talent, singing all these new songs, doing them perfectly, in a venue where nobody expected Jackie to sing mainly classical, because they did not know who she was.
@@richard40x Richard, during several years just before TMS Jackie has performed upbeat new pop music at several venues. Almost all the music she has sung during the past 10 years has been old pop tunes. Jackie's name didn't even come to Sharon Osbourne's mind when she was a judge on TMS. Did you see Osbourne's interactions with Jackie during the AGT period. Jack produced a lot great music during her career but none of the judges listened to any of it. The lesson that can be drawn from that is that the audience and the entertainment industry is NOT CAPABLE of being entertained by quality music. I've written a lot about this fact and provided suggestions for Jackie about how to draw a larger audience. Jackie should have been offended that her name never came to any of the judges minds. Jackie is under great pressure due to many different reasons. I suspect that she had a lot to do with choosing the song "River" to sing. In the song is a phrase about the way she feels about the music industry as a whole. Her depressed tortured picture encapsulates her feelings at this point in time. I hope she doesn't hurt herself. Say something Jackie. 11-16-21 after not communicating in social medias for more than a year, Jackie appeared on several medias explaining why she was gone for so long. During the past year she had an emotional breakdown and was in a very serious automobile collision. She said that several parts of her back were broken. The two photos that she uploaded appeared to have had a cast removed starting at a few inches above both of her wrist covering her hands. I suspect that she was clutching the steering wheel with both hands very firmly upon collision with something. During the past decade, I have been trying to help her advance her career and deal with her emotional issues. I'm very disappointed that none of her family, team or friends never bothered to comment, even one time, to say she is alive and will be back after heeling. See Richard Orvos' comments at Facebook about how well she is progressing.
@@foxfoxtruth " I suspect that she had a lot to do with choosing the song "River" to sing. In the song is a phrase about the way she feels about the music industry a whole." Here's what Jackie said about choosing River: ""When I first heard this song, I was immediately struck by the sadness of losing your love during a time of the year when you need them the most," Evancho tells PEOPLE. "I was introduced to the world of Joni Mitchell and it led me to many more incredible songs in her repertoire. The beauty of this song has profoundly touched me." I think I'll go with Jackie's explanation, because I don't presume to have insight into her psyche. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. "Depressed tortured picture"? Jackie has always had an exceptional, natural ability to express the emotion of a lyric, and she is an excellent video actress in that regard capturing the ethos of the song with her facial expressions and body language. Being that the new album is a "concept album", according to her producer, Fred Mollin, "River" is likely a teaser to what Jackie had often referred to as her intention at some time to make a "Great Women Songwriters'" album (or something to that effect). Joni Mitchell's song is a great introduction to that concept, in my opinion.
@@cl9786 She has got 3 tour dates in Florida for November. Sounds like a post Covid re-opening tour to me. If Biden and his gang of Covid thugs don't spoil it.
She had performance engagements that weekend that actually paid her. All she would get from TMS was even more exposure and an acrylic trophy if she won. TMS is not really a contest, it is a vehicle to build your name and face[?] recognition.

@@rehoboth2721 I suspect Jackie coordinated with Fred recently for its release "First quarter of 2022", perhaps mid to late Feb, as you suggest. Can't be certain, but it would be feasible considering that the vocals were completed in August (following the instrumentation track, right?). I think she would want to begin her 2022 tour schedule with new material.
@@cl9786 I believe both MPM, Orchard and JME Inc. want Jackie at her best in every way before they publish the album and start touring. I'm sure Freds trip to Pittsburgh was in large part an assesmest of where she is physically, emotionally and vocally. Its big money and she is by far the most important componant. I think back to well monitered normalcy would be the best medicin for Jackie.
@@rehoboth2721 I agree. She's probably prepared to bring her best to Millersville vocally, considering the vocals were completed to Fred's satisfaction. However, there's no need to rush into a tour schedule if she isn't totally fit physically and up to dealing with the pressure mentally. She'll know how strong she is on Dec. 17. May take a few concerts for her to get back to the performance level she exhibited on TMS nearly two years ago. Fortunately, she's popular in Palm Desert and dearly loved by her Florida fans, so she'll be quickly and easy forgiven for anything less than her usual perfection. Never been more curious about a concert than "Home for the Holidays". It will reveal a lot about her following a long and unfortunate absence from the spotlight.
