I was born in 1965,I became a fan early on,I still remember grocery shopping Saturday afternoons with my mom and grandma, and us trying to finish quick so we could go home and watch Jackie from Miami Beach.Later he had a comedic renaissance in the 70s with the Smokey movies (saw the first two COUNTLESS times! ) Loved the Honeymooner's reunions in the 70s too.I bought my first music album of his when I was about 20 or so,I've always loved his music, and it was funny trying to explain to my hip 80s friends what Jackie Gleason was doing in my record collection LOL! I was super emotional when he died,it was like losing a dad or a grandad for me.I remember a lady from work brought in People magazine with Jackie on the cover as a tribute, with the title "So Long Pal" and I uncharacteristically burst into tears,me trying to be a cool young man out the window. My only defense is that I loved this man dearly, something in me sensed the primal humanity, compassion and joie de vive in him,and on top of all that he was just plain cool.I think the late Larry King said it best, "Jackie was family." RIP Jackie, and keep a seat open for me at the bar up there...............
Jackie wrote the theme music for the Honeymooners and, The Jackie Gleason show. I here he put out several dozen albums of his music. What he called "Vanilla Music".
Dearest Jackie,I'll see you later, pal, and thank you for all the wonderful memories of you from my younger life. We'll have something tall and cool from the bar...........................

@@veronicagallo2035 We're about the same age,I remember the 1960s Jackie Gleason Show from Miami Beach, and the musical Honeymooners.Got into the old 50s Honeymooners in the 80s (they weren't rerun in my city til 1985,when Jackie released the "lost" Honeymooners). Also read and purchased the book about Jackie by James Bacon. There also a couple of other books out on him that are really good.I fell in love with Jackie at an early age.I sensed his Pisces compassion and understanding of humanity, and responded to both his comedy and pathos.I was a teenager when he started doing the Smoky movies, and I saw the first 2 COUNTLESS times! Loved his beautiful music too.Grieved/cried like a baby when he passed.I've had several dreams about him over the years. It was nice to meet you ,a fellow superfan! God bless you dear!
As a kid I grew up watching The Honeymooners I was born 1970 and still to this day I watch The Honeymooners Jackie Gleason Audrey Meadows Joyce Randall and of course Art Carney😭💔😢
Yeah, same here. I was born in 77. I used to watch old re runs of the Honeymooners growing up. I still watch them. They're pretty much just as funny today as they were years ago. 👌
This is so nice. I smiled while listening to the music, thinking about all the good time he must've had and all the people he made smile in his lifetime. I still remember in 1984 when i was 9, we had a small black n white TV in our kitchen and I'd sneak out of my room and hide under the kitchen table watching the Honeymooners. Great memories 🙂
That was hard to watch as I LOVE the Honeymooners and the complete work of Jackie Gleason as an actor and musician. Do you have any information on his daughters? Touching video...
fun fact he lived about 5 minutes from my childhood home in Lauderhill florida I believe he died there also! the park across the street from the nursery home he lived in is named after him too, my middle school used to take us there all the time
I'm not sure who the singers are, but you can find it on RU-vid. I believe the song is called "You're My Greatest Love" ...Good luck! :) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-whnCK7_Dx34.html
Buford t justice ...when Jackie tells someone during the movie smokies and the bandit that the bandit is a mental case that was straight from the honeymooners...🙀❣🌷❣🌷💋💋💖💖⚜⚜⚜ RIP JACKIE YOU CRAZY SUMBITCH....SAID WITH ALL THE LOVE A LIFELONG FAN CAN OFFER...TIL WE MEET AGAIN....
WOW!! The metric tons of customized marble must have cost a fortune to bury them that way, most celebrities would not go that way, but. Mr. Gleason was no ordinary man!!!
Brooklyn in the house Jackie YOU MUST be making Jesus and Mary laugh their heads off the music is fantastic but sad for a man who could not write music he came up with some great songs
His 3rd wife of 12 years, Marilyn Taylor Gleason, is interred next to Jackie. She passed in April of 2019 at the age of 93 and was the sister of June Taylor, whose dance troupe was featured on Jackie's Variety Show. Marilyn was a dance in June's troupe and that's how she and Jackie met. June actually is interred right next to the Gleason mausoleum.
He's buried in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery in Miami. He's buried next to his wife, Marilyn nee Taylor, who was the sister of June Taylor, the leader of the dance troupe on Jackie's variety show. June is actually buried right next to his mausoleum. Just didn't get a shot of it b/c I hadn't realized she was there, too, until after my visit.
Why do people spend elaborate amounts of money on gravesites/mausoleums when they are not gods or even there to enjoy them. That to me is a waste of money! It is soo sad!
I would've walked across the ocean to be NEAR Jackie Gleason or his funeral. I'm SURE PLENNNNTY more wouldve been there and been HONORED to be there if we knew the info🌜📺✨🌟🌛truly truly *THE GREAT ONE*❣️✨
Audrey was a “class act” and a huge contribution to the success of the show as of course was Art Carney …and to a lesser extent Joyce Randolph ……shows like “the honeymooners” will never be seen again.
Unfortunately, his final resting place is not here, in this beautiful cemetery. His resting place is in the next life. Hopefully, he knew the Gospel in faith, knowing that the blood of Christ’s payment for sin will resurrect him in His presence and grant him the gift of eternal life. This is my hope for him. No church saves you only the Savior.
