All things considered, Jackie Jr. honestly turned out to be more like his Uncle Richie or even Ralph in that he was murdered by an overweight person.

What a disgusting, entitled, spoiled, polished sociopath, and extremely stupid character, was ‘Jackie.’ Beautifully portrayed by Jason Cerbone, who, very surprisingly to me, did not go on to bigger and better roles (yes I know, ‘The SUV’!). Jason was also playing against type, which I love, as he is a smart guy with a degree in Biology.

That convo where Jackie Jr. & Richie were talking to Tony and the others by the ocean proved that Richie may “INITIALLY” have had issues adjusting to life outside of prison, but was absolutely justified in his actions in doing so!! Regardless of who would have, could have, or should have been boss at the time, being a member of your crew, “WHO DIDN’T SNITCH” should *AUTOMATICALLY ENTITLE* “said-individual” to being in “good hands” to say the least!!

If i may.... I loved the character of Jackie Jr, when the show came out we were roughly the same age. Both from NJ. Both our Fathers were dead. Only my family wasnt connected but i instantly related to him. I always pictured myself in his shoes. How would i play my hand... I understand its a TV show. But sometimes i think alot of the guys the same age as Jackie Jr put themselves in his shoes.

Tony should have given Jackie Jr. two options: 1) If he wants to date his daughter he must be enrolled in some form of post secondary education and get a “straight”. Absolutely no involvement in organized crime. 2) Tony could have allowed Jackie Jr. to become an associate of the family. Tony could have offered to teach him how to be an effective soldier. Depending upon Jackie’s earn ability, Tony could arrange for him to be made. In return for this, Jackie would not be allowed to have a relationship with Meadow.

This was such an interesting side story line. I found it impossible to feel any sympathy for him. His father, before he died, had made it clear that he was NOT to be part of their thing, and Tony was adamant about respecting his best friend's wish for his son. Jackie Jr was too stupid ( or vain ) to see what was right in front of him, - that he had no future in the Soprano crime family. But his voice does something to me. It's like it never really makes it out of the back of his throat and into his mouth. Like its slipping a gear.

After watching Many Saints of Newark there is no difference between Jackie Jr and a young Tony Soprano.

I think Jackie Jr's problem is that without his father he's a nothing burger, in someway he's like little Carmine, talks and acts like he's got what it takes but the moment daddy is gone they both struggle and fail to play the game despite having some decent mentors around them and guiding them. All while he walks around like the mayor of munchkin land, acting if everyone should be kissing his shoes like he's a captain. Tony's quote of "Those who want respect, give respect." sums up perfectly why Jackie Jr was never going to make it, he respected maybe three people, and aside from his Father, none of them were close to Tony's hierarchy as Ralph and Richie were disrespecting the people around them. Jackie Jr felt entitled to the world.

I really didn't notice at first when watching the show but ralphie definitely played a major role to influence jackie jr to the path he was on.

Genius writing. Jackie Jr kept giving Tony insight to Ralphs influence on him. When it finally blew up Tony held Ralph responsible and make him take the heat over it . Also it was fitting that Jackie Jr was responsible for Matush ending up in the hospital and wouldn't even help the poor guy out by bringing the bed pan..Matush drove away during the heist which eventually lead to the demise of Lord Fuckpants..
