The 90s baseball cards as a kid was the best unless you grew up collecting during that time as a kid you just can't understand how awesome it was I remember in 1995 trading cards at lunch time in school it was. Currency back then use to stay up all night looking up cards in beckett trying to make sets spent so many hours as a kid to only realize when ya grow up they would be called junk haha still gives me such happiness everything I see these 90s cards

Best way to remove the mystery peel is with a hair dryer a slight distance from the card and only for a little bit. It will shrink one corner of the peel and allow you enough slack to peel the rest

One small recommendation, and not a big deal, but I like that you do it. I think you should put the player name above the comped card you’re showing. Sometimes it’s hard to tell which card you’re showing the comp of.

I agree with you about the Griffey "finish" pose after the smoothest swing in MLB history...IMO. I gotta go Damon with the beard. That's one of my favorite things about the Red Sox, Yankees rivalry. The Yankees having to have the no facial hair "clean cut" look, and the Red Sox allowed the beard, and the scruffy, pine tar covered uniforms.

Back in the 90s there was a coin collector store right next to my lcs. The guy who owned the coin store was a huge Chipper fan and I would trade him my Chipper inserts for morgan silver dollars.

Topps had released a set where there was a Mantle refractor in each box. I had 4 of them but lost them in a fire. I cant remember the year but the look on my Dads face when I pulled those cards I will never forget.

Pulled McGwire, Sosa and Steve Trachsel (who gave up Big Mac's 62nd). Pretty juicy box.

1998 was the height of my baseball card collecting days. I knew a lot of the players then but after that it just died out completely and I switched to football cards.

I never peeled off my covers. I didn't get a lot of Finest as a kid, but the few I got I still have and they're all still unpeeled.

The black long sleeve shirt blends in with the mat and makes it look like Phil's got just creepy hands and no arms ripping packs.

I bought cases of 96' Topps base in pursuit of Mantle reprints. I haven't seen them in over 20 years due to storage, but i think that year some Finest were randomly inserted. I could be wrong

When I would get a Refractor I would peel the covering off so I could see the actual card. Sleeve it and top load it. Those Refractors really POP with the covering off.

Looking forward to the SP. Those are some of the first "high end" cards I ever bought. Pretty expensive as a younger kid.

I used to take some BP at the Tustin baseball academy cages that the Greens own! Nothing like Pedro and Maddux mowing down those roiders. Nobody likes a manufactured low scoring game anymore with good pitching and clutch hitting. I hope they raise the mound and the seems on the baseball!

I’d love to see you get several of the same box of Finest product and a binder of 9 pocket sheets, and put together a set of the base cards...especially from a set like Finest or SP that has really nice base cards.

At least for that mystery refractor it had the coating on both sides. I remember pulling several in football during that time period and the backs of the cards would display 4 - 6 possible players that the front could be but you couldn't see through the front like that Chipper.

If you want to peel something off the card try and use scotch tape or something similar. Put a generous piece on the side you are peeling and try and peel it with the tape. Might help.

Hated peeling those mystery cards back in the day. You needed really good fingernails to pick at the corner until it popped up. Fun break.
