A wet and windy January 11 mile hike is a made into a mountaineering expedition by doing some quality scrambles. Bells Knott and Jacks Rake are both grade 1, but made more serious by the winter conditions.
Take care though, either of these scrambles have the potential for serious injury if a slip should happen.
An outing of this type should only be undertaken with suitable experience, equipment and an ability to cope with the conditions.
