That’s awesome. I thought about the FD but I was getting it mostly for river fishing so the pedal drive didn’t make as much sense to me.

Chad Hoover the bite fd would hold up in the river but I agree I fish rivers primarily that’s my thing and I just missed paddling and I hardly used my drive I might add a torqueedo someday for those solo river trips

I got my Bite Angler over the Fourth of July weekend. Same color - Forest. I'd been looking to buy a used kayak for a year, but finally pulled the trigger on a new Bite. I fly fish exclusively and like the open deck. So far so good navigating and fishing local lakes. I look forward to doing some stream fishing!

@@jeremydrouin9975 I hope you're as impressed as I am with the boat. Aside from breaking those seat clips - my fault for leaning that far back - it's been a huge eye opener. I'm thinking of grabbing the 3 wt and messing around with some creek bass and bream next. Been triple digits for 2 weeks with the 10 day showing triple digits every day coming up....seems like a good time to get into the woods some, lol. Enjoy your Bite!

@@Motorcyclewindtherapy I like it so far. The only comparable I have is an old Saturn inflatable kayak I've been fishing out of for the past three years. The Bite seat sits much lower than the swivel seat I put on the Saturn. The lower seat position has been the biggest adjustment, as well as sitting lower in the water. But I immediately noticed that the Bite handled windy conditions much better than the inflatable, and paddles better than I expected. It would be nice to have a high-low seat option, but the ability to trim the length is a great feature. Especially for someone like me who is 6'4 and needs more leg room.

@@jeremydrouin9975 I hear ya. I'm 6'4" as well. It really helps. I stopped by the dealer today...carrying the seat in the door and the guy was already reaching for a new seat strap/clip arrangement! He said Jackson said they had so many break that they changed it up some and sent the dealers multiple packs of a new design. I swapped mine in 2 mins. Seems like a better design although I still say a metal clip would be SO much smarter than plastic. Lesson learned...I will not lean back and recline on the seat anymore, haha. I had fished the day before for many hours in my canoe and the old back was still sore...after an hour fishing in the bite I decided to lay back. It felt great until I broke the plastic clips a d landed flat out! Still... I paddled and fish another hour with no seat back and caught 5 more...the bite is really stable. Glad you like yours too. Good info on the wind, hadn't thought of that vs. an inflatable. I know it's not as small to pack away, but it's a cool boat. I also stood in mine today with no issues in our pool. Will try that fishing soon.

Between those two and what you said you intend to do with it, I would go with the Jackson Bite. But you should also probably consider the new NuCanoe Unlimited. It’s probably a better boat to compare to the Jackson Bite.

Your decision is probably long made...but if anyone else reads this.. do NOT get the Nucanoe Flint! I'm 4 decades of paddling canoes...flat and white water...I've done a ton of fishing from canoes and also both styles kayaks. I bought a Nucanoe Flint last year sight unseen because it was available during covid. I dumped it about 10 times on 4 river trips. Its HIGHLY unstable to me. The idea of secondary stability is fine... but it's way too long before it kicks in and by the time it does...its over. Tackle in the river. I sold it for a loss. Yes, I am now looking at the Unlimited, the Bite, and the Sportsman 106 (paddle version) and maybe a shorter Bonifide. Wide, stable, and a lawn chair seat is what I want... trying to see if I can hold out for demo days. Till then I fish from a couple canoes, a sit in at the lake house, and still have an old native set on top redfish lying around.

@@ChadHooverFishing yes awesome! I had the native Titan 12 but man I almost killed my self hauling it down to the water even with wheels. Stable boat but way too heavy.

It tracks a little better than the Coosa because of the keel, but still maneuvers really well. It’s really stable because of its width and that also results in the boat floating really shallow which also lends itself to great buoyancy and quick vacating of water in small to medium sized rapids (2-3) so while it isn’t a “river specific” design like the Coosa, I think it’s a more than adequate river platform that will also handle wind and track a little better for flat water fishing as well. Hope that makes sense.

I personally use an adjustable paddle (PLUS SERIES) from Bending Branches so that I can adjust it to different boats, seat heights and conditions. My paddle adjusts from 240-255 CM and for the Jackson Bite and my height (6’1”), I find that 245-250 CM works best

It’s not a barge. I think it paddles a little better than the Outlaw because the keel makes it track a little better and I just like the overall layout better

That would be a weird comparison because they are really different, it’s wider and heavier. I plan to do some reviews of the Crescent Light Tackle this year at some point.

The lite tackle is 12’ x 34” weighs 75lbs the Bite is 11’6” x 36” 74lbs. Both are open deck paddle kayaks the Lite Tackle is $999, the Bite $929. But the take of the tape and sticker price are only part of the story. Interested in quality, comfort, performance.

Might even throw in the Crescent CK1 which is 11’ x 34” 60lbs.
