A fantastic song by Jackson. He's always been and still is a great songwriter. Everything he's ever done has been so perfected before released, he's spoken a lot about how he works on songs for long periods of time before they are completed. His bands are always some of the best musicians. I have always thought of Jackson as my favorite songwriter and there are many great ones. His years of working with David L. were so brilliant. David seemed like such a cool guy.
He survived C19, so this song really fits. It's been my theme song as so many friends & family pass. I saw him a couple times in early 70's. I remember standing on a corner in Winslow AZ. Going up & down the west coast to his music in the early 70's.
Jackson looked like he was 20 years old for over four decades. The last decade has caught up with him, but he's still one of the best ever. Amazing talent with a conscience.
Great song, the album version is over 5 minutes long, notice how much he had to cut to get it under the limit for what they wanted. Didnt he play this on Letterman that year too?
