Personally I find Coldplay quite good. Chris Martin is a musical genius. Saw them in concert before Covid and it was great. I am 66, love JB and JT….but love Coldplay as well.
It was a time when musicians knew how to play their respective instruments and rock n’ roll was made up of those musicians. Musically, it was the best of times with The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jackson Browne and many other rock n’ roll luminaries. “Video (did) kill the radio stars.”
Voice is still good, he will always have the Lyrics. BRAVO ladies and gentlemen! Very nice. Seeing them play together, priceless. It’s just plain refreshing to see JB play and sing. Why? He’s from a time in the past where musicians actually wrote, struggled and managed to play their own music and somehow that is a big thing compared to today’s Autotune, manufactured bands and bought songs. Nothing authentic about today’s music, well not much authentic anyway.
Going to see Jackson Browne and James Taylor in Columbus tonight! I'm 23 so wasn't around when this was new, but this is one of my favorite songs, can't wait to hear it and many other great ones live
Proud to be 71 years old and lived through the best of Rock and Roll... Todays piss poor excuse for music-RAP in particular- comes from" want- a -be's" and not real musicians. Today is all about style over substance and the younger generations ends up with SHIT.
i had a friend. toured Europe with friends early 80's. Met you briefly after a show. Said you were essentially cool guy, and genuinely warm. God Bless the USA. My friends father, worked with my father, for nearly 40 yrs, in a company that started making basic home electronics, to becoming a major post WW2 defense contractor. God rest our fathers.
An exceptional pairing of two sacred monsters of Music, the one with a capital 'm'! .. in what I consider the most beautiful piece ever written by Jakson Browne, here with the immense James Taylor !! 💖
My first thought is that this guy does a great "Jackson Browne" He's forever embedded in my mind as a young looking man, long brown hair parted in the middle and clean shaven. We've seen JT age and really hasn't changed much over the last40 years or so. (I think he aged early and stayed there Haha). Always loved this song and it makes me feel good now even with awful audio.
'I was at one of his first Concerts! That's the man I will always remember!! How ever I've been to so many more! Jackson Browne Is one of my favorite singers! 'I remember when he married both times. When his two Sons were Born. Jackson is a great singer and song writer, The last few times I seen him were in Charlotte NC. Before the Pandemic. 'I hope he'll come back to Charlotte NC again, Love 💘 Jackson Brownes music!!
The man is a legend, It is amazing how the lyrics still move me some 45 years later. Of course I'm "running on empty" much easier these days. As the old joke goes "It takes all night to do what I use to do all night"
It's crazy how he sounds exactly the same he was my 1st concert at 14 in 1976 glad he was my 1st haha Good times great memories The Hartford civic center OMG back in the day
I still have my Running on Empty album. The title was the big hit back in 1978, right after I graduated High School. Other songs I loved on the album: Rosie, The Load Out/Stay. All classic!
We got time to think of the ones we love While the miles roll away The only time that seems to short Is the time the we get to play How profound Jackson sang these lyrics. Load out will always be my fav
I remember back in 1978 my first year in college taking a road trip for spring break from Daytona Beach, Florida to Savanah, Georgia in my 1974 Mercury Montego with a buddy of mine and we listened to his cassetta all the way through over & over , I never get tired of his music 🎶 ❤.
Jackson wrote “Rosie”, way back when in the backstage rehearsal room at SPAC, fantastic place to see anyone , JT always does great shows there . Thanks for posting. Sounds like my youth……
He still sounds amazing. I saw live in Philadelphia, at the old Robin Hood Dell a longgggg time ago and he was amazing that night! He sounds older but for 72 he still is pretty damn good!
@@gg0802 it was great, we were in the the fifth row, that pretty blonde background since, that bass player with the long beard, we has the lead guitarist in front of us and, we had a crazy friend who was standing, screaming playing air guitar, so the lead guitarist came to the edge of the stage and payed to use, screamed at us and stuck out his younger! We were all screaming! It was one if the most memorable night of my life! I am 68 now and still remember like it was yesterday!
wasn’t there but loved hearing all the musicians! JT was my FIRST concert at the Greek. Then later saw JB in Santa Cruz. Glad they can still rock on !! 😎
In 2018 I was driving west in deep south Saskatchewan heading to Alberta. I was on gravel roads and all of the towns were either ghost or shut down (Sunday). The nearest gas station was Milk River AB. I had a reserve 20 liters in the back of the truck but instead I opened a beer and played this song. You can never forget something like that
Looking back at the years gone by. The years have gone by so fast. This man sitll has it and he has not given up yet. Still performing and still sounds great. Love this man and his music.
THANK YOU! This is much better than my phone camera footage from the SPAC lawn! This concert was so uplifting. I shared the joy of the songs with my son, and we had a GREAT time. True artists who love the craft--James Taylor and Jackson Browne✌👍🎵🎹🎙🎸🎤🎛🥁🎶
Oh my gosh but he sounds SO GOOD! With so many of our beloved rockers showing a bit of age in their hair and movements, they still sound 110% BETTER than most any 'artist' today. Thank you, Mr Brown, for all the great music and memories. You are a treasure. God bless and keep you.
Can't believe its been 45 yrs. since i heard him at The Lakeland Civic Center in FL. Almost as good as 1976 when the roadies had to come up on stage with a blanket , rap it around him and carry him off stage , when he wouldn't stop playing . JT is great also .
I have been impressing his all songs and his way of life. How do i deside my way of life? His song is helping me to deside it. It is like a supporter of my way.
What a gracious guy. Shot the shit with him a couple times back when I had a song with CSNY. Album went platinum in 1989.Jackson had a heart transplant earlier this year. Prayers for him.
ALEXANDER WES: Okay, originally, he wanted to explain things...We knew we had to grow up quickly in 1965...We could trust one another, and we were not shy--we could look one another in the eyes...
Oh my gosh Jackson you sound fantastic and we need you now more than ever Jackson Browne for president if these idiots can do it you should excel at it come on man let’s go
