I have loved JB since I first heard him in 1972. His pure, clear voice singing his ageless, poetic lyrics..( my kids, now young adults, know all the words to his songs and are proud of the fact that they can recognize his music)......with David Lyndley backing him up.....it just doesn't get any better!

Thank you, RoyAl, and I agree about the song being poetry, as most of Jackson's songs are. Gotta love it! My ex used to hate it when I played JB. He'd sigh and say, "Sing us a sad one, Jackson." I just told him to go away and let me listen to my music. Of course this was 30 years ago! God rid of the man and still listen to JB

Stumbled across Jackson Browne's music in 1975. Since The Pretender came out in '76 I've worn out 3 vinyl copies. Still collecting Cd's and vinyls of his music when I can find them. Jackson is not unlike most of us in that he excels in one or more things in his life and yet has human limitations and failures in other areas. So he not only inspires me creatively, he helps me cut myself a little slack regarding my own shortcomings. Thank you Jackson!

Absolutely agree with Tom above. I've been listening to Jackson's music with David Lindley and others 460 years now. Very hard to believe cuz his songs seem to be timeless. So very very sad to hear up David's passing. That spot will never be filled in any way shape or form. He will be so greatly missed. I can't imagine how Jackson this feeling about that.

The papers lie there helplessly In a pile outside the door I've tried and tried But I just can't remember what they're for The world outside is tugging Like a beggar at my sleeve Oh, that's much too old a story to believe And you know that it's taken its share of me Even though you take such good care of me Now you say Morocco and that makes me smile I haven't seen Morocco in a long, long while The dreams are rolling down Across the places in my mind And I've just had a taste of something fine The future hides and the past just slides England lies between Floating in a silver mist so cold and so clean California's shaking like an angry child will Who has asked for love and is unanswered still And you know that I'm looking back carefully 'Cause I know that there's still Something there for me But you said Morocco and you made me smile And it hasn't been that easy for a long, long while And looking back into your eyes I saw them really shine Giving me a taste of something fine Something fine Now if you see Morocco I know you'll go in style I may not see Morocco for a little while But while you're there I was hoping You might keep it in your mind To save me just a taste of something fine

"California's shaking like an angry child will, who has asked for love, and is unanswered still..." For me this song and duet reaches a pure and real place.....flirting with love, and knowing how it can be tempered with deep sadness as well. Perhaps this song is most appreciated when one is free, however briefly, from the superficial tones of modern busy life, but it is so worth it.

When this song came out I was in a tumultuous college intense relationship with a girl I had been friends with for a long time. She had broken up with her long term boyfriend and had started dating a grad student and somehow we took our relationship to a very short but very intense level in between. She and the grad student were heading off for a trip to Morocco and when I told her she would probably forget me, she, knowing the song, said, “no, I will save you something fine.” We never got together again, but this song always had that odd special meaning for me.

This just strikes me as so beautiful and so perfect in so many ways the more I see this. First the song , of course, then Jackson and then David in their own perfection and then the look ; the classic white shirt on Jackson against the black background with David Lindley also wearing a white shirt and it all comes together as a perfect performance. This can be said for all of their other performances on OGWT on this night.
