Definitely some nice pieces, but they will only be as good as the front line. However, the biggest mystery surrounding this team as a whole for me is how well will all the new and/or young coaches perform. There is considerable youth which offers some benefit but is certainly no substitute for experience. Javancy Jones does not have any collegiate coaching experience, Chris Orr only a few months, Kali James has only served as a grad assistant, and JSU is Mario Magana's only D1 experience. He was still a student two years ago. I was surprised to discover that Coach Riddley has been at JSU five years but this will only be his second year as a position coach and first time coaching TEs. Prior to that he was at JUCO. Coach Quinn will be in a new role in his young career as well, having only been the safety's coach at Alcorn for a season and a JUCO stint after a season at UAPB. A good thing is that with coaching, you pay for experience, so it looks like JSU certainly didn't break the bank. But we must also remember that you get what you pay for. We'll just have to see what that is, my friends. †
