Alcorn is finally on a come up but It's still no where near JSU level.. I use to be a die hard ASU fan until I actually opened my ears! JSU won this hands down!
Jalen, SWAC bands talk SMACK all the time, and it's all in fun, so if you sick of it now you gonna be real sick when you make it to college, we all got respect for each others programs, but the SWAC is a BATTLE CONFERENCE, it was before I was in college and it is now years after, so get use to it buddy!
I am so sorry for all of you bias JSU fans but ASU is blowing and you can not deny that they have gotten better and sound really good, adjust your ears and mabe if the camera man was a little closer to ASU you all would see!!!!!
As far as the the drilling goes...SOD's show was obviously not a traditional show. It was more of a dedication to the Alcorn that reigned from the mid 80's- early 00's. That was the point I was making about the choice of songs including but not limited to "No Crime" and "Rub you the Right Way." JSU's show was SLOW moving. OAN: Loved the way you used my words...talk about originality. This will be an invariant dispute in that state because people are unfamiliar with casting an unbiased opinion.
But aye, I honestly hate to openly criticize other HBCUs.. Because whether you know it or not, we are all fighting the same battles. Just another name, a different place. We should really uplift each other. However certain people like to push the envelope at times, and others have to step in.
@Kandre0408 - lets make 1 thing clear. Alcorn never reigned over 2 decades as u put (80's-00's). If so, please tell me exactly what year? Because JSU went to Motown in the 90's and then performed in Hollywood in the early 2000's (alcorn was horrible, at an all time low in the 2000's). So... please explain
I can't speak for other mississippi bands but as far as the BOOM trumpet hang overs are a signature element in their style for decades, when done tastefully (like when the BOOM execute it) it sounds good, Alcorn on the other hand is a copycat band and try to do what the BOOM do, but nobody can be the BOOM but the BOOM.
Mr. Taylor can't be the director forever. I'm not sure he is interested in being director as long as he was the first time, but either way the BOOM will still be on point.
Jsu all the way hands down. I admit Alcorn band program starting to get back on they shit but they gotta long way to go before they get on Jsu level Lol
This camera helped JSU to all shyt talkers cuz I was AT the game & 50% of that sound wasn't making it across that field. We could barely hear them! I ain saying they suck but they ain about all that hype yal got around them. The Boom really didn't impress me at all this season honestly, they were better last year.
southern ALL DAY EVERYDAY!!!!!!I WOULD LIKE SAY JUST WATCH THIS VIDEO AND THIS IS ONE BATTLE FOR THE BOOKS.THERES NO WINNERS AND NO LOSERS.GOOD CLEAN FUN.BIG UPS TO BOTH BANDS GREAT JOB. 10/10/2015 9;55 AM PS I LOVE WATCHING MY HBCU'S BANDREMERBER THIS TO ALL BANDS SOUTHERN IS NOT YOUR ENEMY.WE COME AFTER NO ONE.THEY COME AFTER US.
I trying to see where ASU was sounding bad cause from what I see ASU do a great job. That's just JSU fans hating in this clip that's all. I think both bands did a great job I don't hate.
An opinion and comment that I can atleast respect. Keep it up Boom....Waiting for SOD 2013-14. Will be in the Atl (home) for the HBOTB....supporting both schools. LOL @ strike a nerve. Not at all, just thought I'd add some intelligence to these silly and frankly biased comments. I never mind a GOOD debate when it comes to music. *K-K-PSI Iota Beta*
Well, this year's SOD is abit larger, louder, and they are playing more traditional songs from its past.. But why does the SOD insist on blasting and screaming on a majority of their songs? By the way, does anyone know if the flags will rejoin the band next year?
No BOOM member old or new will deny that impress3, its HOW we did it....they had it coming....like I said it's a long story, if you ever kick it with a old head BOOMer ask them about it, no shame in rockin' "Rock the House"!
