Wtf are you talking about she isn't in any office. Shes an employee enforcing codes and laws being passed while nobody is paying attention. Shes just following guidelines of her job payed for by tax dollars. Mayor,senator,governor they are who looked at understood and signed these into enforceable codes/citations and they who should be put on unpaid leave and exempt from ever holding office again.
This little inspector thought she could throw her city weight around but veterans don’t play that stupid crap. I am really proud of all the patriots that jumped in.
Much respect to the Mayor for doing the right thing. Sometimes inspectors let their jobs get to their heads, and they create hostile situations when it's not necessary. Treat people with respect...no matter what.
Just goes to show that there are some pretty stupid rules out there. This is one of those rules that should have never been made a rule, law, ordinance, whatever you want to call it. Sure is funny how bad the back pedaling is. As an employee of the city an code enforcement officer she is showing everyone how BIG of a power trip she was on by giving this business their citation in front of customers. What's serious bullshit is she was disrespectful to a customer of this business who had nothing to do with the flags being flown on top of the business and yet she felt the need to get into the customer's face because she didn't like his reaction to her shitty attitude. Who the hell does she think she is to tell a veteran that they didn't do anything for this country. I don't care if this veteran was a janitor or a gunner. He served this country with pride and did so willingly. What does she feel someone has to do in order to have done something for this country. Then for her to state what members of her family are veterans as if that excuses her ignorance. At just about any other job out there if you are disrespectful to a "customer" especially to the point that this woman did you would be suspended until they have your final check to give you when you are fired. Must be nice to be able to be a bitch to someone and get a few payed days off. Then to top it off her supervisor witnessed this. What is his problem? Did his wife keep his balls that day so he didn't have the fortitude to tell his employee that she was out of line. Why did this have to go viral in order for this woman to get in any kind of trouble? The supervisor needs to be fired as well since he obviously saw nothing wrong with how his employee was acting.

The mayor should be put on leave the employee was just following citation guidlines. Citations all written up and signed into code to be legally enforced by the minions,which this employee was a minion doing her job. Why are we blaming her she didn't pass these codes.
I wonder why this news station didn't do a little more digging. Who's grand idea was it to ban all flags except the American flag in the first place? Did it start in the mayor's office or what level did it start on? Did some overly concerned citizen approach an over officious inspector and wonder why the ordinance wasn't followed to the letter of the law?
This is why you must get involved with your local government ! You need to sit in on these open forum meetings and find out who comes up with these ordinances and stop them at the beginning.
Wow. The customer STARTED that confrontation! Not the inspector. And the media makes false allegation her saying that the inspector made hateful comments to the customer. Doesn't anyone wonder why those alleged hateful comments weren't quoted as fact like a trascript?! No wonders why a false allegation of the inspector getting in the customers face is being circulated despite clear video evidence to the contrary?! No one cares that she was enforcing a legit code at the time?! This is all absolute insanity from start to finish what happened to this poor woman. She was just doing her job people! Not an easy one. And trying to do it while being antagonize by a customer whose mouth should have been SHUT.
Oh, she represented the City and you give her a day off? Let me guess, she'll use a sick day, vacation, or overtime to cover her wage loss or did you give her a day off with pay?

I can't see any reason unless, ... no, I won't guess.
As for the vet, she was wrong. Uncalled for. Should have never happen. As for the ticket. No, she was only doing what the city council order her to do. The problem is with the code enforcement ordinances. It should have never be passed into law to begin with. If it had been brought to the attention of the city council that the judges that are appointed to serve are not elected but appointed. And that the judges sitting over these. court are not judges at all but contractors. This code enforcement ordinances may have never passed. If the judges are given their appointment because of their experience in the field and not the law. One has to ask, "how did they get their experience?" Did they make their money in the contracting field? If so, could they stand to profit from finding people guilty? IF so, maybe the people of Jacksonville need to wake up and get rid of the code enforcement ordinances. Maybe this was a wake up call.
