See this what erk me, on its face it’s justified shooting, but why say “drop the knife” then give him a split second. He wanted this kill it’s just disgusting all around. Just shoot him because he was presenting danger what you asking for??
dominique williams Think about it this way. If it was you who had a knife pressed against your neck, would you want them to hesitate? All it would take is half the time it took the cop to shoot him for that man to have killed you
i disagree....trash is worth way more then that and that's not taking into recycling account....um that thing is stealing oxygen from more deserving people
It was hard to watch. I could not see anything. Florida Man looked like he had the Holtzman shield from Dune. But it's only the slow blade that penetrates the shield.
Not even close to a liberal, but enough time to comply with the order at least. Just think if you were holding your phone or something a cop thought was a weapon, and before you could even drop it you were shot. Would you still think it was justified you got shot?
This situation is sad, both homeless men fighting & the guy he had at knife point is a homeless veteran, this country need to take care of its citizens better especially the vets
@Keep Rocking! Even if that was the case, holding a knife to the neck of a guy in a wheelchair is a bit excessive don't you think? I mean if he stole from him or something just call the cops. If you do what he did you get shot.
Reporter: how long before you give someone a chance to respond ......Investigator should have said : if it was you with a knife to your throat how long would you want the officer to wait ??
Like the safety expert said "he looked at the officer (therefore acknowledgement was established) and never moved the knife from the victim (also knife was on the victims chest/throat area)". They only WANTED this released in the hopes they could find some wrong doing on the officers part, but they failed. I love how those who want to blame officers for bs are the first to run to them for safety.
Not to be disrespectful but the homeless guy is stout and in a wheelchair. He couldn't possibly move away in panic. And he must've been still in shock so it kinda makes sense to me.
Keith Burns Doing his job or not, anyone that saves another’s life is a hero, maybe not to you but in the eyes of the person they saved they probably are.
just imagine this crackhead holding that knife to your child's throat and it suddenly isn't sad anymore. 😀 And your welcome for the free therapy session.
The fact that he was still holding the knife at the guy's throat as the officer approached tells you everything you need to know that was a Justified shooting. One loser down.
I mean the shooting isnt justified but it sure was a good thing. One less criminal on the streets so I wont question it any further but you can clearly see he slowly pulled the knive away as soon as the officer gave him the order. So no, not justified but I think it was for the best.
Took a life to save a life, that will still weigh on your the soul though. I feel sorry for the officer in this case but the shooting was absolutely justified!
That homeless man exclaiming “oh, thank god” is actually kinda wholesome to me. Poor guy could’ve died and he literally couldn’t run or do anything. That cop is a hero for sure
That cop sacrificed a part of his mind so quick in order to save a life. I bet he‘ll dream about that, but he didn‘t lose a second to save a life. Hero.
because he didnt give him anytime to really react, plus he shot him fatally when he could have given a warning shot, tased him, or shot him in the leg or lower torso .... thats why
@@johndough7039 If I ever tell someone to drop a weapon, they'd better comply IMMEDIATELY! Most civilians just don't understand the EXTREME deadly nature of an edged weapon. I'm only gonna tell them once.
you make it seem like the Forcillo shooting but this was an imminent threat to life and he could have shot the suspect without warning him justifiably. if you run towars a cop w a knife, you get shot. they treat all human life in the same fashion, even criminals, but this guy was an immediate threat and even confronting him at all is a risk to the officer and victim.
@@johndough7039 a warning shot is a myth if you fire a warning shot your life is not in danger, and shooting someone in the leg is literally the dumbest thing ever and greatly increases the chances of a fatality.. why no one with any knowledge of firearms and the body doesn’t shoot for the legs lol
@@johndough7039 Warning shots are not allowed. Legs have tons of arteries. Hit one, you’d probably die from blood loss before the paramedics arrive. Hardcore Absolute Fact: 100% Absolutely no reason to have shot the man! Cop made zero attempt to scare the man off the homeless man! He could have kicked the man off the homeless man or shot him in the leg ( knife would have auto dropped ) and then yelled at him to not move! No lives would have been lost! Cop is a criminal!!! Poorly trained and lacks empathy under pressure!
You can see a small knife on homeless man's chest, and the suspect even started to back away and release the man's hand when cop yelled, yet he had no time to do that. I mean why not, I got the knife on video, I'm a cop, so I might just use this gun already.
Arm chair expert? You obviously are not grounded in reality..."small knife"..."on...chest" sounds so less than lethal. You didn't mention it was pointed at the guys throat...I wonder why. You probably (feel) like the cop shot too many times. Youre not aware of so many tragedies that occurred because cops hesitated.
@Hd34 Hd34 maybe drop the knife? Or attempt to move away from the guy you are holding? Dude froze and well your actions have consequences, he paid for his by not listening.
from what was shown there was no definition of who attacked whom. Man with knife could have been mid self defense against the other guy. Walking in while middomestic violence is a shooting no no in the military. If the officer did not observe the whole altercation he might have killed an innocent man. Way too quick to open fire
Dave Ulrich Because how can the old man actually defend himself? Yes, “legally” he has the strength to, but would anyone really consider him able to? So I’m not criticizing the “legal” part, but just pointing out it seems technically to be a stretch to use that terminology.
It can be hard for some people. Some people have never seen violence and it's hard for them. But most importantly some people have seen too much violence and it's even harder for them

Suicide by cop. I agree the cop was a little too quick on the trigger, but dude, if he would've waited one second and "crazy eye" killed that poor man, everybody would've been screaming, "why didn't you shoot the fool!" I would've felt terrible if I tried to save them both but ended up losing them both. And dude had that knife on his neck for long enough, he knew what was coming.
Oh no. The sound of gunshots can be quite unpleasant. ...if you're hearing them cracking your direction with no cover nearby. Other than that, I kinda like the sound sound of gunfire. In fact...I'm feeling a bit empty inside because it's been so long since I've heard a shot fired in anger.
What would happen if he did tase him. His body would spasm and he had a knife on a persons neck. What if because of the tase the suspect ended up stabbing the victim.
@@kirasato1012 this was meant to be an ironic comment. Thats why I wRoTe It LiKe ThIs. I intended to mock the idiots which, no matter the situation, always say there are tasers. Even though tasers obviously arent reliable enough in such situations

exactly ,,,,,,,, amazing that isn't clear to the blind people out there that can not imagine being in the situation of such a danger. I would love to see these high brow reporters would react to being held at knife point by a crazed individual. " I have to wait until he stabs you in the neck before i can take action , due to the knew guidelines we have been subjected to, sorry, just give it a minute, i have to ask him politely 10 times and adhere to the demands of the offender first"
ThesexyMrX non lethal action has zero gray area. It is very clear within a departments Policy when to use non lethal force and when to use lethal force. This situation called for the immediate use of lethal force in order to protect someone. A taser, which renders your muscles uncontrollable.., is not a good play when the aggravator has a knife to someone’s throat. Pepper spray is going to cause a lot of erratic movement which once again I don’t think is a good play when a blade is placed upon someone’s neck. So what do you recommend?
@@john3156 I recommend a gun shot to the shoulder, arm, hand leg etc. Anything to put the offender in shock. Not a fan of tazing, it may have shocked the victim. What difference does it make when body-cam footage is released? A man's life was clearly in danger and the officer's actions were appropriate. End of story.
Didn't give him any time to comply, idk who murders someone staring at a police officer, and shot 3 times for no reason basically assuring that he would die. Seems off. I feel like if it were handled differently no one would have had to die. Not like I feel bad or anything, but it's dangerous to excuse a police officer for quite literally, jumping the gun.

@nickys34 You really need more life experience. It would have taken zero effort for the mugger to stick the knife into the disabled mans throat and kill him. Zero. Effort. There is also plenty of video evidence to back up what i'm saying, the most glaring one is the video from south america where a guy with a knife 3 times the size of the one seen here stabbed the woman he was holding hostage at least 6 times before the cops killed him. The problem was they gave him the time to do it. Put down the game controller and learn something.

So, help me out, even when totally justified, the media still feels compelled to question something inconsequential as the period of time of the release of the video. The officer was justified in saving another man's life - is there any other question we need to ask other than the media's morbid curiosity in watching the actual video!
Yes, i would say there should be more questions to ask, like: - who is the oryginal owner of the knife? - why would a guy who has a job and home need to robb someone who has nothing? - how is it justified when they were wrestling with a knife in hand for like 10-20 min and non got hurt, but the cop arived and manage to kill someone in 2s?
It's simple "optics". There are heaps of justified shootings from both police and normal citizens that you'll never see popularized. It's only when someone throws a fit that it becomes national news and a media company can feed off that for months at a time. So, often, when a full justified incident like this is presented...the media just "try" as best they can to make it controversial because they want those ratings, those views, that 'fervor', etc. Many years ago, we had five shooting incidents in a week...not one of them made the local paper or news - because we were doing a politically sensitive job and it was not palatable/etc. Just typical media manipulation at its finest.
When an officer has his gun pointed at you while ordering you to put down your knife you don't just stand there and think about it. YOU PUT DOWN THE KNIFE!
Silentknight, give the man a few seconds to process what he just heard and who said it. The cop didn't even give the man a chance to respond. The cop was trigger happy and couldn't wait to shoot the man. That's wrong!
Emeka Adibe Wow moron....... Who cares what the officer said or who said it? You can’t be actively threatening someone’s life with a deadly weapon and not expect others to try and save the person being assaulted. Maybe next time you’ll be the victim, you can calmly tell the officer to wait a few seconds for your perp to process his next move. Meanwhile he takes .5 seconds to stick that knife 7” into the side of your neck. With your last breath you can thank the virtuous officer for giving your attacker time to process his situation. It happens in the snap of a finger.
I’m gonna have to side with his comment he’s not wrong people these days are too scared and they react too slowly the dude barely gave him over a second to react before he open shots on him the guy looked like he was backing away from the dude in the wheelchair. When the cop saw the knife to the guys throat he realized he had to do something, he didnt shoot him because he was on drugs, he shot him be cause he was about to kill someone else
He didn't though because a taser would've stopped it just as fast and he could've made an arrest but these are blood hunting of the officers, who enjoy the buzz of shooting and murdering without fear of any charges.
