My home base is in the suburbs of New Orleans and my property is surrounded by woods on three sides and a canal/bayou. It gets very noisy in the spring when "love is in the air." I also get a couple of flocks of Black-bellied Whistling ducks that hang out on my property (yes, I throw out deer corn twice a day for them) and they are a noisy bunch too. It's great being in the "country" while being a half-mile from major roads and only 5 miles from the French Quarter.
I had to laugh at the mosquito comment as we sit in the Hiawatha National Forest in the UP camp hosting and dealing with millions of those creatures! Luckily low humidity here! Safe travels! ~Lynette
Just FYI: Another Mayo location is in Arlington VA, near DC. The Virginia Hospital Center is now an affiliate of the Mayo Clinic. There may be other affiliates around the country.
I just recently found you and love your videos. I’m new to all of this and am learning so much. I’m so happy you enjoyed your visit to my beautiful city and especially Hannah Park. It is very special! I also am a huge believer in Mayo. They literally saved my life. I hope to run into you both out on the road sometime in the future. God bless and thank you for these videos. 😄
Larry works at the hospital in Jacksonville. He’s there often. As well as Orlando. We love Hannah Park. Frog noises at night in Florida is pretty much a nightly thing. Especially after rain. At least no coyotes like at our last place 🤣. Florida summer. 🥵 🕷 🐜 bugs. Low hanging trees are a problem for bigger RVs. We stayed there several times. The beach is a 10 minute walk from the park? Maybe you don’t know about the shortcut? It was the first park to close because of the virus. We left the day it closed. 75% at Mayo in Jacksonville out of state? 🤔 Glad you had a successful trip. Take care. Drink water 💦 Alice
Thanks for the good information especially for those of us who plan to hit the road in another year or so! I thought I saw your rig at an RV Park in St. Peter’s, MO but I realized that this probably wasn’t on the route from Florida to Michigan! I also then thought that you probably aren’t the only one with you Unity! Lol
Mike or Jen, how does the Mayo Clinic mesh with Medicare? I have a Medicare Advantage plan through Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan. Does this Mayo Clinic thing compliment that or is it just your primary care physician? Inquiring Michiganders want to know. Keep the good stuff coming.
LOL! "Bo stay here. You'll be scared". That is why we camp, for the beautiful sounds of nature. Yes, Jen, to "just be" is the best when you are outside. We love nature! Beaches, forests, or whatever just being outside and listening to the world is so therapeutic! Thank for the video.
Doesn’t your Medicare travel all over the United States with you or do you need to buy more insurance for traveling I don’t understand how it works have a good day
The Mayo Clinic is Florida is not a top Hospital. Both Mayo in Minnesota and Arizona are ranked top 20 in America. Mayo in Florida is not even top 200 in the country. The Mayo in Florida operates much different than the other 2 locations and is much more about surgeries and and $$$. Also I traveled there and they would not see me for a basic appointment for 6 months. I had to go to Baptist and University of Florida Hospitals instead. They were not that great either.
We had nothing but positive experiences. We use Mayo primarily to have all our regular checkups and tests and physicals done. In three days there, we had routine tests done that would take weeks back in Michigan with our home doctors.
QUESTION Price campground, limit on time? Hope u folks are okay and just routine doctors visit. Your beach t-shirt.....my senior eyes saw "FELLON" Traveler, lol. Stay safe. 🤗🥰
@@RVLifestyleIt is not a wise choice. Florida cases have grown every day in the past 10 days and today they are already showing over 4,000 new cases. Right now Florida has the 4th most cases in America behind NY, NJ and California. So okay make your choice but by broadcasting it on youtube as some nice trip, it is like you are endorsing it. Otherwise make your own choice just don't show it like it's a great choice because it is not. Especially to go to the hospital for a routine visit when most hospital are still using telemedicine. In 12 weeks over 122,000 American lost their lives while being quarantined. That is twice as much as the Flu in 52 weeks and without quarantine. We have 2.3 million cases in America compared to Japan who has 20,000 cases. You think the Japanese are just RVing around like nothing is happening even with such little amount of cases?
