This video was taken on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 16th, 2022 and shows Jaco's popular beachfront area on the south side of town between Calle Hidalgo and Calle Alice. Starting on the beach at calle Hidalgo, we follow Jaco's beach front streets on the south side of town, crossing a small river on the beach and making our way to Selina Jaco Surf School, one block away from the Jaco Walk shopping complex.
This is one of the busiest areas of the beach and one of the few areas in Jaco where there are roads that follow the beach front. There are several condo developments, homes, a few bars and restaurants and numerous surf schools renting boards and offering lessons. The south side of Jaco Beach is also one of the safer areas to swim and surf and is recommended for tourists, families and anyone who is not experienced with swimming in the ocean. If in doubt, don't go out, and please consider swimming near the lifeguard stations.
