The lesson, clarifications and experience presented every week, gives me hope and joy to persevere till the end. I do appreciate your teachings !!! Thanks from the bottom of my heart!!❤😊
Thank you. I watched this on Saturday morning and the message of God's eternal love was a perfect lead into General Conference. Mike, I like how you "personalized" Jacob and his experience.
I love how you pointed out that the Lord God poured his spirit into Jacob soul in chapter 7. It reminded me of President Nelson‘s talk in general conference last week when he said that he and the other members of the first Presidency have had an outpouring of the Spirit. When they say that it’s time to perk up and listen I think. 😊
One Jewish woman, now in the church Had stated if our scriptures were so plain ,I would have understood and hope more would understood What, Who Jesus Christ is . The Book Of Mormon really is telling more about Jesus Christ... She has wrote a book about her life coming from being in the Jewish community and becoming a Christian, and Member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints! 24:39
Hey Bro Halverson, I just listened to your talk "Covenant Patterns in the Old Testament and the Book of Mormon." It was excellent! It really increased my understanding of covenants that I have been studying deeply recently. I had one question come to mind though. You talk about how Nephi focuses on the Mosaic conditional covenant and not the Davidic covenant of Zion theology. The BoM has very few references to king David but a ton to Moses. This makes a lot of sense; however, Nephi also seems to clearly pattern his life and narrative after King David ("beloved son," cutting off the head of the powerful adversary, becoming the rightful king, etc.). Do you see truth in this? It just seems like you were suggesting that Nephi and the BoM authors were almost intentionally trying to move away from references to King David except in this one case. Was Nephi somehow trying to contrast himself to King David or something, or is there another explanation?
Great thinking. I've actually written articles on these topics. I hope you enjoy! @@ScriptureInsightsLearning WOW!!! I have a question and you already have multiple papers on it haha 😂. You're a total boss!!! Thanks Bro Halverson! I also thought it was crazy because you and Bro Harris talked about Kingship and King David in your subsequent Enos-WoM video! Can't wait to study these! Thanks as always!
