Jacob Collier is an Alien! Moon River REACTION 

Jacob truly is out of this world! 👽💚

The opening with all the faces features a lot of illustrious musicians from around the a cappella choral and jazz worlds: singers from Take 6 and Voces8, Eric Whitacre, Herbie Hancock, and a number of others! He asked them all to send him a video of them singing "moon" on any note in the Bb major scale. And yes, the whole thing is completely out of this world beyond description.

JC admitted in an interview “Moon River” required over 1200 lines in Logic. The intro was Jacob requesting innumerable musician friends (look closely and you’ll see Chris Martin from Coldplay, Herbie Hancock, members of Take 6 and the late David Crosby to name a few) to send back a file singing the word “moon”…. the rest was JC arranging/mixing magic. There was one other voice amongst all the Colliers… Jacob said his sister sung the top note of the final chord…. which, itself was a nod to a Take 6 final chord… I’ll edit in which song when I remember. Hello KZ the opening was made to accommodate so many people who wanted to join him - - -The opening is his mother and sisters - - amongst others who appear are (in no order) Suzie Collier, Sophie Collier, Ella Collier, Ben Bloomberg, Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, Eric Whitacre (famous Choir master), Hans Zimmer, (film score composer) , Chris Martin,(Cold play) David Crosby (from Crosby Stills and Nash), Laura Mvula, (jazz/pop star), Jamie Cullum, (Jazz pianist/singer). Among many others. Listen out for the way some of the chords change gradually into different ones and key changes - -- - - ABOVE ALL JUST enjoy this work of genius - - the filming alone is a master piece. 🙂🙂PS I do not know why these names are crossed out !!!!

I love to see people reacting to this one. Just a friendly tip, your commentary volume is a little loud, or the music is a little too quiet. Just needs a little more balance between them. It is indeed crazy. Glad you enjoyed!

No need to apologise, I have listened to this on many occasions and it still blows my mind. I'm not a musician & at 1st this is so insane and out of my comfort zone its hard to listen too. But I'm in awe of someone who could even conceive of such a thing. Not a fan of his version of Bridge over troubled water, I prefer his stripped down stuff like Little Blue Mahogany session or his life stream version of FIx you or In the Early Morning.
