The last time I commented on this song I was in a very dark place battling alcohol addiction that was killing me. I thought that I would miss her forever... The song came up in my feed and I'm looking back and I want to tell you that I am in peace now and I am sober and happy no longer drowning lost in the sea of demons I was drinking.

I was super lost inside a void of addiction homelessness and hopelessness when I first heard this. Years ago I watched this video and it gave so many words where I only had silent pain an outlet if you will. This brings so many emotions....watching it now. This expression of love and pain and loss and mess and obsession and the raw bleeding pouring out the emotions I felt...I needed it. I needed to know I was not alone. In that moment years ago you gave me that. Thanks bro, many blessings. Sober since October 2018.

This song is like a rollercoaster you didn’t know you had got on.

Almost 3 years back I was in the hospital for a while. Alone in a room with no one to talk to, even though a friend and my mum came to visit, a half hour went by so easily with them. I only had a few songs downloaded on my phone and this was one of them. I spend all day listening to this song for days. I changed phones and never found this song again but I just knew that I had to find it somehow. So for the past hour I tried to remember anything else than just a part of the melody and then bom bom boooom I remembered the name, though it still took some searching because the Imagine dragons song was more known. I'm just so glad that I found this song again, it's a really beautiful and calming song that gives a certain comfort which isn't easily found. Thank you :)

My mom just passed. Shooting up heroin, pain pills, meth and fent for her medicine. Not a fun life to be in, or one that usually leads to a long life. She only got to hold her grandson twice. Days before she passed, she wrote a note about starting over with God, and said she was gonna get clean to be able to spend time with him. She knew I wouldn’t let her keep him without me there. I’m sorry you never got to keep your grandson for at least a weekend mom. I’m sorry I left to get my life on track and not stay in the same spiral we had always been in. I would’ve stayed and been all fucked up too. I hadn’t ever been through serious opioid withdrawal when I was preparing to move away, and hated how you’d push me to buy you some of your medicine. I’d even love to relive one of the days your threw me out, middle of Appalachia winter, 0” and 2’ of snow, just to see you again. Rest in paradise mommy. At least you won’t have to deal with your issues anymore. None of us need medicine in heaven.
