Denmark at last has its own English Amateur champion.
Jacob Skov Olesen added his name to the esteemed rundown of champs with a persuading 4-and-3 triumph over Britain's Dominic Clemons on Saturday evening at Ballyliffin in Ireland.
"I haven't exactly had the opportunity to contemplate that," said Olesen, who bears no connection to one of Denmark's top proficient players, Jacob Thorbjorn Olesen. However, definitely, it's an honor, and I'm truly pleased to be the main Danish victor."

"I've thought about it all day, all night," Olesen said. ". I will say on 15, the last putt there, I was thinking, two putts from 15 feet and you get to play The Open and the Masters and the U.S. Open assuming I decide to remain amateur for such a long time. That was presumably whenever I first truly permitted myself to consider it."
