thankyou for putting this up on youtube, I have just finished reading Lukes book, freaks geeks and aspergers. So was lovely to see how Luke is doing now and to hear his mothers views. I have an 18 year old with ADHD, 11 year old diagnosed with Autism and a 3 year old being assessed for Autism.

So cool to see Luke Jackson! Met him in mIRC in the 90’s in an Asperger’s chat. I still have the beautiful rainbow globe picture he made on my computer. So beautiful! How awesome that he’s very successful! 🥳🥳🥳

Interesting. I appreciate hearing Luke's perspective. Our family is dealing with similar issues re higher education for my 22 year old son. My husband wrote a book about our son. It's called "Andrewtism" by Ken Smyth in case anyone wants to learn more about autism.

I have autism, and I can relate to a lot of whta Luke says about having to push himself to do things that he's not up to. In the past, I've done the same. BTW, I noticed Ben's age wasn't mentioned. Do yuo know what ben's age is?

Can someone advice me please? is it possible to have adhd and autism? I'm confused because I thought they are opposites? 🤔

Hi Kathryn, ADHD and autism are both neurological conditions (conditions affecting the brain) and both can occur in the same person. In the bad old days, people were told that you couldn't have both conditions but it is now accepted that you can and it is actually very common to have both conditions. You can find more information about this on the Research Autism website at researchautism.net/adhd

I'm Aspie and I have an Adhd partner. If you want to check better the difference or the similarities between them you have to check how the feelings flow... adhd is just a manifestation, a consequence, there could be both neurotypical and aspies adhd, but my partner has no digital emotions like me (with digital I mean our tendency to feel 0% or 100% of a particular emotion, my partner can feel 20 or 50% so is very different from me). We can be both bypolar but in a different way. I took a lot of knowledge living with such a great and particular person.
