While I'm definitely not a fan of Jada, I think "awful" (as someone in the comments put it) is a bit too harsh in this case. Their models are much closer to the "toy" side on the collector spectrum and as such, the quality can't be compared to a $150 - $300 Elite/Super Elite KITT in a larger 1/18 scale. If I'm not mistaken, this is the only 1/24 diecast KITT available and they even gave it a light up feature... not too bad for 20 bucks. Hotwheels released a non-elite 1/18 scale KITT that I was able to snag for $50, but even that one is selling for around $175-ish nowadays! In regards to how far the wheels sit in the wheel wells... that's a Jada thing. 99% of the stuff they put out has that same stance... a lowered/customized look. Not really my cup of tea, but its their style and they're stickin to it. I don't knock them for it. I'm glad they released this affordable, not-too-big, KITT for the masses to enjoy. I got 2 of them, lol. Now I have a KITT in every scale they come in (except 1/1 of course, lol)
By the way I think this is 1/24 as I have it and love it! I am gonna make a 1/24 Goliath to face off with it and maybe a Flag semi mobile unit Knight truck for it to go in, and with a ramp that lowers. Should be fun!
Good review. You forgot the back hatch opens too. The only real nitpick I have is it's looks like it's been lowered. Unless the had an episode of KITT being a Low Rider...
I have a little Sam W. Figure from Transformers human Alliance Bumblebee, and hit sits in there practically perfect. I little paint and he would make a good Micheal Knight figure. Made an more accurate license plate on the computer. Good car for $20.
as much detail they put into the interior and exterior and lighting you'd think they'd put that care into the engine. I don't know what that is, but (fictionally) the engine was a big block V-8 twin turbo(sound-wise)-the version I built from a model kit myself using a 1968 Trans AM big block and the parts for the twin Turbo from my KR model kit. The "prop car, non-fictionally was a small block V-6 naturally aspirated not very exciting but a fact. This model, looks like a large electric motor, not at all what the 1982 car was fictional or not.
yeah I guess their main thing was to have the "light up feature", but seemed to lack other specific details. Ive had a lot of comments of inconsistencies with this one as far as how it appeared on the show. I still like it, and it looks good on the shelf. Im sure that model kit you have is bad ass..because they go all out with those.
My Childhood dream car..Of Course I cant compare this with the Hot Wheels version or Ertl but I will still buy this and put this into my Knight Rider collection..Little bit dissapointed with the license plate and they should have put decal on the talking box because its KITT and they forgot to sculpt the steering wheel logo.
yeah this was my dream car, until we got Batmobiles😉, yeah for the price point its decent to add to a collection, but yes they left out a lot of details that would have made it even better!!

KITT: I am the voice of Knight Industry 2000's microprocessor. K.I.T.T. for easy reference. KITT if you prefer.
I have K.A.R.R. by Jada in 1/24 (I've posted a video on my channel) and while I am agree that as it happen with K.I.T.T. it looks lowered compared to the actual cars (but I don't mind actually) their rims have much better proportions than those of the 1/18 Hot Wheels Elite wich it has too smaller rims with a huge side tire, not realistic and, of course, definitely not attractive.
Sure you have the same one? Sounds like you have the smaller version that has the mechanism to kinda pull back in it and it will move forward on its own. Wheels on this version move freely just fine. Or maybe something is going on with the one wheel?
They also have the shape of most of the car wrong. The bottom of the front bumper didn't have ground effects. The top windows had a thinner line between them and tinted t-tops and trunk. There was a black privacy protector sheet over the trunk. They missed half the lights on the dash, lower half and the botton pods where turbo boost was. The shape of the back bumper, rear tail lights, and area under the rear spoiler are mishapen. The front lights were supposed to be closer to the center not the sides. The wheels are too high up in the wheel wells. Suspension is all wrong.
@@knightrcer the best one is the hot wheels I've got the joyride version and the rear window should be crystal clear and mines blacked out .my favourite one is hot wheels version
@@James-hh1lq I have the Ertl joy ride but the rear window is completely blacked out which is not accurate either. It needs a light tint which was on the show and an old trans ams of that year. That model also has amber fog lights which is also inaccurate.
correct, thank you. I finally realized afterwords and with other purchases that the scale was printed at the bottom. I was always looking for it on the box. Yes the Batmobile wasn't your standard hot wheel format. Thanks for the info!
Got mine wasn't impressed so striped it down sprayed t tops black from inside added in decals for dash added top console replaced number plate and raised the wheels as to low looks a lot better painted turbines underneath silver
Ok if u take the base of you'll see theres a peice of plastic under the metal bar that spins the wheels carefully chip that peice away both sides push the bar down then I used two tiny tiny screws to stop it lifting up adjust until bar spins freely all this u wont see when u put back together
It's a pretty awful model, especially compared to the Hot Wheels Elite versions. Can't understand why the wheels on this Jada version sink into the wheel arch so much, and the doors open on a lever instead of a hinge which makes it look like a cheap and rushed toy. See the better versions put to use here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XR8GTSSPkBU.html
Agree it is probably the least accurate of the diecast models. Aside from the wheel issue, the body is much too 'bottom heavy', with the roof line being much too low. To be fair, the Hot Wheels Elite model has its own problems, and is far from perfect.
