Doing what they gotta do to get people into the line. If they can keep the price around this constantly this line will be something special. I doubt it though.
This is what we should ALWAYS get with a $25 action figure. The level of quality is perfect. Other companies should take some notes. This is how you show your customers that you value their business. Shout out to Jada toys for doing a phenomenal job.
If Hasbro actually increased quality over the years consistantly and comperably with the price hike and what they saved with those windowless packages we really should have gotten this level from ML the last year or two.
I'd like to see Jada make some other Capcom franchise figures, such as Resident Evil (Based on the first 3 games mostly) & other stuff like Strider Hiryu. Pretty much stuff to compliment Marvel Legends to make a good 1/12 Marvel vs Capcom collection.
Jada Toys is killing it so far! Personally, I would like to see Jada Toys do some anime figures, like My Hero Academia specifically. Just so we can have something well articulated while not breaking the sculpt, and that's affordable/accessable, compared to what's out there rn (Revoltech, McFarlane, and Figma)
@@MJAranas I'd kill for that but Warner Bros is notoriously stingy when it comes to Mortal Kombat. Hell, it's the reason why Storm Collectibles can't dole out Mortal Kombat like they did to Golden Axe.
I really look forward to getting Fei Long and Ryu. I’d like to see Jada Toys complete all of the iconic Street Fighter characters. King of Fighters characters would be great, too!
It's impresive how they care about the articulation, the details, even the box and they keep it on an afordable price. I hope they get the support this grade of dedication deserves. You can see when the designers and company love what they do.
@@UnparalleledUniverse The faces aren't accurate at all Fei Long looks like Bruce Lee in the older games & has brown hair, Ryu's hair is wrong & it's supposed to be brown not black
I'm looking forward to the potential colour variants to represent the palette swaps in the games. My favourite alternative colour palette for early Ryu was the Orange & Blue from SSFII 🧡 💙 Great review. Could see you enjoying posing in the articulation section.
This is the first time I've noticed the "Furinkazan" on his belt. Great detail. Jada if you're listening, recolor this in his navy gi, yellow headband color, and you got my money. I need more Capcom and game franchise. Help me fill out my MvC shelf with stuff like Captian Commando. And then get other games, Castlevania or KOF top of my list.
I watched one of your videos from two years ago before this one and i was dying from how many times you said the word dope. In this one, you said it around 6 times. I'm glad you're cutting it back. Always enjoy your reviews!
I definitely wanna give these a try, as I am a fan of Jada Toys' Universal Monsters fare. I'd love to see how they render a Zangief in action figure form. Also, as far as other brands/licenses I think Jada would do a great job with, in the vein of the Monster Cereal mascots and Chester Cheetah, I feel like Jada would do an amazing job with McDonalds McDonaldland chararacters.
I also think Molding the rubber in black would be the way to go here… there might be a complication in doing that because the chest hair on the Storm Collectibles Zangief is also gray rubber painted black … and it’s also chipping so who knows! Great review man
Molding that stuff in black would have helped quite a bit. I ended up repainting the hair and applied some Matte sealant and it actually came out great
I loved the Universal Monsters line from Jada which went completely under the radar. Hope this line puts them on the map because they have an awesome action figure division going on after doing toy cars for years.
I would LOVE for them to do Mortal Kombat and Tekken so I can finally have a 6 inch Sub-Zero fight a 6 inch Yoshimitsu and Jin Kazama fight Johnny Cage. Would be awesome imo
I really, really, really want to see Jada making some KoF figures. The soft plastic they use would be great for characters with crazy designs like Iori. If Jada can make figures like these Hasbro should be able too as a bigger company.
So I just looked it up, but Ryu is 5'9" (175cm) SFII-SF6, and Fei Long is 5'9" (175cm) too. So I guess it's pretty accurate. Albeit Ryu should be a smidgen taller and thicker imo. But it's not such a big deal if you look at the comparisons.
Hasbro needs to take notice of these figures and up their game. This is a bulky figure with better articulation than their Spider-Man figs. I prefer Fei Long's figure. This guy has Sasquatch feet. Still an amazing action figure. Unlike most Marvel Legends this has a decent amount of accessories.
I’m not a big street fighter fan but these I have to get and I’m only getting them for the articulation alone once I get my hands on Ryu I’ll see if I can replace the gi to a cloth one
I sure missed your reviews last week, good to have you back! Amazing figure, I hope this line continues giving us all this good stuff but the hair issue does suck xD Those hands inside the effect are amazing!
That was the best size comparison I have seen with this figure. Not only d you get to see if he matches up with SOTA, but also the other brands Ryu has crossed over with. First review I have seen that mentions the hair paint rubbing off. That's good to know. With the SHF line ending, this looks like a cheaper alternative. Jada colored Ryu's gloves the Street Fighter III colors instead of the Street Fighter II color, but I can deal with that. I hope we get to see the rest of the Ultra Street Fighter II cast along with, Alpha versions of these characters.
Iron sharpens iron! Hope other toy companies start stepping up after seeing what Jada is doing with outstanding figures at an affordable price. I’m all in with Jada SF! Be cool if Jada can jump in and do real boxers like Mayweather, Pacquiao, De La Hoya, Sugar Ray, Duran, etc. They would kill it, just like the Warriors will against the Kings tonight!
I hope they go deeper down the Capcom well with a dedicated Darkstalkers line. There are about 6 Darkstalkers I want for my Marvel vs. Capcom shelf. I know Jada's said they're hoping to do the non-SF and Megaman MvC characters in a "Capcom All-Stars" line after they finish the 18 characters or so from SF Ultra II but there are so many Darkstalkers characters I want that I'd rather not wait 2-3 years before I can start getting them.
Pre-ordered both this and Felong over at BBTS! When I first came across these and saw the price tag, I was like..."Meh, figures are most likely cheaply made with horrible QC and crappy articulation. I'm so 1/12 spoiled thinking if it isn't priced high it must be junk! But still, I wanted to find any reviews I could, it was the sculpted work of these figures that still kept me hooked. Then I come across your channel, boom! Can't wait to get both in hand! Thank you for this review! Subscribed! CHEERS!
Ryu is my favorite Street Fighter character, so this figure is a must have for me. Overall, I've been a fan of this fighting game series for almost 5 years. Plus, I think when I review it someday, the Spider-Man comparison will be a highlight for fans of the Marvel vs. Capcom.
I love that they didn’t use the same buck for both figures. And that soft plastic is the one thing a wish Hasbro would have used on characters like DOOM and Kang.Or any character with a tunic (like imagine citizen V with a soft cape)
The soft rubber hair material shouldn't be the problem, it should have been molded in black along with belt that way no chipping would happen. welp hopefully future releases correct this. but overall its a minor nitpick and a great figure.
@@UnparalleledUniverse if you haven't seen the stream where they show wave 2 I Highly recommend it. Dhalsim has bendy wire alternate arms and legs an alt head and soft goods cloak (with wire). For freaking $24.99.
Do companies ever lubricate their figures joints? I recently got m bison and popped him apart at the waist and there was some sort of lubricant in the ball socket
Yep, I had the same issue with the paint on the belt. I took off the GI and when putting it back on I pressed down on that peg and the paint rubbed off a bit. But it's still a damn good figure. 🔥
Now I don't have any Jada Toys figures yet as I'm not sure where to get them in Canada, but I hope they become one of those companies that goes crazy and becomes able to make figures of a bunch of different licenses. Like I would love them to get Invincible, Luther Strode, the Supermassive verse (Radiant Black etc), Anime, and would be cool to see John Wick. Cool to see affordable super articulate figures that are also playable.
I would love to see jada toys do more fighting game stuff. Series like mortal kombat and tekken don't really have any good figures aside from storm collectibles, so I'd love to see jada toys take a crack at those. Maybe even some other capcom franchises that don't have any official figures like resident evil, devil may cry, or some of the obscure characters from mvc
I would love to see Jada Toys making more video game figures. Fatal Fury, Samurai Shodown, Double Dragon, Captain Commando, The King Of Dragons, Ninja Gaiden etc. So many good stuff.
I finally got this figure. I'd say in terms of quality it's either the same or above Neca, but definitely not in the level of Mafex, Figuarts, or Mezco in terms of refinements, but of course you are paying for a premium for those brands. The QC is still not up there, you can see plastic mold lines, some paint smudges, quality of plastics used, and the articulation is not as smooth as those big 3, but in terms of price per value, this is definitely better than what Hasbro or McFarlane is offering. I still have my Figuarts Akuma which I bought for 35 bucks, I'd say the overall quality, refinements, and inclusions in that figure is still above this figure. This is a good alternative, if you missed buying Figuarts in its retail release. Now they are double the price
Jada showing McFarlane and Hasbro how it’s done! McFarlane figures look good but can’t pose worth a damn. Hasbro figures have great engineering but look like cheap toys. Jada figures are close to import quality for $25!
I received the Evil Ryu variant this weekend thanks to a small promotion (€36 instead of the 45 requested in my country, for information regular Ryu/Fei Lang/Chun-Li are sold at €30 here). I've been hearing about this brand for several months and I'm impressed by the value for money. Having several Marvel Legends, McFarlane and a few Figma and Mafex, I have the feeling that Jada Toys is a mix between the quality of Japanese figurines and the price of American figurines since the sculpt and joints are really good and the accessories are satisfying. It's only the paint application that reminds me that this toy line is aimed at $25. I won't buy the whole roster because I don't have the money or the space for it, but my favorite characters (Ken, Akuma, Vega/Balrog/"Claw") will join my shelves. And maybe others (Cammy, Guile, Blanka) if the final product is really good. Anyway, now that I have one I think the little hype about Jada Toys' action figures is justified.
Besides stuff like Savage Dragon/Maxx- Jada could do Mega Man X and Zero (the cooler version of Megaman for me), CastleVania, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Onimusha, Tenchu: Stealth Assassins, Devil May Cry, Samurai Showdown, Double Dragon, Streets of Rage.. any 90's fighter or beat em' up.
Love these for the people who can't get the shf street fighter stuff. Hope they get access to other Capcom and fighting game lines cause all I ask for is a darkstalkers line. Please and thank you.
Fei long is about 1-2 inches shorter than ryu in the games. It’s not a major difference but it would definitely be noticeable so he should be just a tad bit shorter than ryu.
Conan the barbarian, Castlevania (games and netflix series), Zelda and other Nintendo franchaises, the Witcher, Harry Potter, God of War, Bloodborne, Eldern Ring, Ghostbusters... They're doing such a good job with these that I kinda want them to go all in, in as many licenses as they can. If I had to pick my top 3 I wish they grabbed, it would be Castlevania, God of War and Harry Potter since no one is doing anything with them right now, action figure-wise. I really only wish to see these imported into my country, as so far, I've seen nothing.
@UnparalleledUniverse Ya think so, I don't know about his body though, little big rather than thin ya know. You're right about the pants though, and the head.
Invincible for sure I think the Diamond Select pick are a waste of money for people who want to pose figs, they work better as in box items to me personally. Anime for sure like Kengan Ashura or Hajime No Ippo, with this level of quality they would be insane!
