About Youngsang Cho
Youngsang Cho is Organic Farmer. Cho learned Natural Farming from his father Hankyu Cho(Korea Natural Farming, KNF) who advocated environmental agriculture since the 1960s. Cho family has been organic farming for the third generation. Cho served in 706 special forces and graduated from Aju University (Bachelor, Chemistry) and Chungnam National Uni (Master, Horticulture). Cho has entered the Ph.D. course from the Department of Agricultural Biology at Chonbuk National University. Cho started organic agriculture in 1989. We grow grapes and make wine. We have a lot of wine yeast as a byproduct of making wine. What is the best way to utilize fresh wine yeast as a JADAM fertilzer? Can I make JLF from wine yeast? Can I use wine yeast as base fertilizer?

You can make JLF as a wine by-product or apply it as a fertilizer to your vineyards. Wine by-products are the most optimal fertilizer for grapes.

Crops do not grow well with JMS alone. Additionally, compost is required.

1. It is difficult. 2. It is about 8kg for 10L. However, in this case, osmotic pressure can kill a significant number of microorganisms. 3. If you use the undiluted microbial culture solution, the crop may die. It is recommended to dilute at least 10 times.

We (I) do the same in Russia. I mix weeds, use parts of plants. water in the bucket and keep it till it stinks. Then I use a cap of this stinky solution with a bucket of water to #water# plants. Usually it goes for tomateoes in the beginig of their growth or for cucembers all the time.

I have excessive phosphate in my soil because I overdo things. It is from using too much organic phosphates such as 0-13-0 bat guano and 0-16-0 bone meal. Will adding large amounts of forest humus to the soil remedy this condition? Should I allow the winter rains to leech it out or cover it with forest humus and tarp it over?

Allow me to ask you a question, the nitrogen content of the urine fertilizer we make is 3.92% according to the method in your book. But we looked up other information and found it to be 0.5%, which is a big difference for us. I wonder what the difference is in the one we make? I'm not sure if I understand the value in your book correctly and if there is another way of calculating it? Would you mind answering this question?

1. Yes 2. JMS should be diluted 10 times or more in water before use. 3. It is recommended to use all of them when the foam generated by microbial culture reaches its peak. 80% sugar of the culture medium can be added or mixed with bran for long-term storage, but such a process is not easy.

The duration is very variable depending on the environment. If you are making liquid fertilizer, you can use it after 15 days in summer. Microorganisms don't manage the cold, but heating is not required in winter. It is possible if you are not certified organic.

Impossible for it to be bad i make jms and apply and i see mushroom growth which means healthy fungal soil resulting from applying jms i have lots of wood chips so the fungal spores applied are breaking that down. Try it, what has been embedded in your brain is what you read and hear about from all the people trying to sell you their mix of aerobic bacterial tea Brew. Just try it man natural farming is the way

thank you for your excellent work i am learning so much, but i have a few questions: my first question: what do you think about using cedar woodshavings to compost human feces? my second question: should i add sieved boiled potato (like for JMS) to the submerged plant material when making anaerobic liquid compost (i have dock and mustard that is going to seed and would like to get buckets and submerge the plant material). And same question for sea water/sea salt (i live on on the oregon coast of america)?

1. I don't think you need a cedar. 2. It is recommended to add microorganisms. 3. You can use sea water instead of salt. 20L of seawater is 500g of salt. Thank you.

Soft water keeps JWA functioning. The higher the humidity, the more delayed the evaporation of pesticides. This increases the effectiveness of pesticides.

If the crop is growing normally, there is no need to use it. It is usually used in the second half of the growing season.

Sir do i need 20kg of sea salt for 3 mango trees? How much is needed if my mango tree is 4 years old and have not harvested. I really want to prepare my soil JADAM way as early as now. Before I learned about JADAM I heavily prune my trees. What is your idea about prunning?

I think 1 kg of salt would be adequate. 20 kg is too much. I believe that all fruit trees that are artificially composted and grown, not naturally growing trees, need pruning. This is because too many tree branches grow and block the sunlight.

JMS recommends using it at least 4 times, once every 4-5 days, before setting tomato. It is important to dilute JMS 10 to 100 times in water so that it can seep deep into the soil. (If it is difficult to use a lot of water, you may spray JMS undiluted solution. If possible before rain) JMS can be used immediately after the official release and any time thereafter. After planting, JMS should be diluted 10 times or more.

Question 2) How many litters in each irrigation need JMS undiluted solution for one plant tomato? I have a drip irrigation system and I want to inject JMS undiluted solution by a drip irrigation system. Question 3) How many days i can store JMS ?

Is it safe to use anaerobic fermented plant water on vegetable root crops like taro? By fermented plant water, I mean plant material that has been put in a barrel of water and allowed to decompose.

I live in a forested area where the soil is essentially loam. It is fertile but extremely porous and resembles alluvial soil so I guess it is a sandy loam. When I add more forest humus to it to try to increase its water holding capacity it just converts to more of the same and I get more porous sandy loam. What can I do to get more substance into my soil? I add tons of manzanita leaf mold but it never changes the soil consistency unless I continually add it. I need something that gives my soil more structure.

Grow cover crops I’m a hemp farmer in central Fl. All of our soil is nearly equivalent of beach sand. If you try to clump it together in your hand it does not hold together well. Do you know your grow zone? Get a monocot and a dicot at least 1 of each. After only a season the soil was much better. For this season I mixed the sandy soil with leaf mold from oak leaves and alfalfa. In 1/3rd mix. I mixed 5 gal of soil 5 gal leaf mold 5 gall of alfalfa. You need to increase the fungal life. Making the soil more fungal dominant will fix the soil greatly increase cation exchange.

@@GTILOUD I can harvest oak leaf mulch until hell freezes over so I figure two 5 gallons buckets a day is the easy way to do it without breaking my back. I will rake it in a little at the surface.

The video mentioned one option for making the liquid fertiliser was "grass or grass-fed manure". I know an old Italian lady that used to make liquid fertiliser in a similar way, using cow manure and water in big polystyrene boxes (free from the nearby fruit market). She left them outside for a long time to ferment, then used as a liquid fertiliser. I don't think she added microbes from leaf mould soil, but thats a great idea

Fermentation (microbial decomposition) proceeds even if placed in a container and left as it is. This is because microorganisms enter the air into the urine.
